This podcast is an extension of our sacred community space at Mountain Hollow Medicinals in Craftsbury, Vermont. It was born out of a gathering in our yurt during an in-person course when we collectively realized that we needed to reach a wider audience to share the incredible magic that so many healers, practitioners, teachers, and space holders offer here in Vermont, New England, and beyond. We strive to offer education, conversations, and resources for transformational healing, complementary medicinals, and tools to empower your journey.
Hellenistic astrology is the old root system beneath the Western astrology we know today. It took shape around the Mediterranean, especially in Egypt under Greek and Roman rule, over roughly eight hundred years, from the late 2nd century BCE into the 7th century CE. It grew where traditions met and mingled: the Mesopotamian habit of reading the sky, the Egyptian decans that divide the heavens into ten-degree stretches, and the Greek love of philosophy and reason. Together they gave us the birth chart, a map of the sky at the moment you arrived, and nearly everything in Western astrology since has grown from it.
In this episode, I speak with Katrine Waugh, who is an experiential astrologer focused on Hellenistic astrology, with a passion for threading astrology into everyday life and inviting people to recognize the impact of their participation in this lifetime.
What an incredible conversation this was with Katrine, and I learned so much and had many moments of connectivity and awakening. On Death, Grief & Healing
In this episode I am returning to the podcast after what I believe was a four year pause. About a month after my last episode I suffered a heartbreaking loss in my family, so this episode is me (Diana) discussing my experience and journey with actual heartbreak and walking with death. I share as best I can in a 60 minute segment on some highlights and challenges on the long pause from the podcast. Its a bit of a waffling on as I am still exhausted from it all, but I am grateful to just get back to this podcast and to share with you some insights I have found along the way.
This episode is a bit raw and authentic. I share some stories about past experiences I have had with death as well.
The books I was speaking of in the beginning of this episode are:
The Pretty Painful Grief Book: A Journal To Help You Face Your Pain and Live With Loss by William Hunter Howell (https://www.amazon.com/William-Hunter-Howell/e/B0DSQ7PM34/ref=dp_byline_cont_book_1)
Pretty Painful Grief Letters: For when grief is too big for words — but you need them anyway by William Hunter Howell (https://www.amazon.com/William-Hunter-Howell/e/B0DSQ7PM34/ref=dp_byline_cont_book_1)
I have been listening to the All There Is podcast with Anderson Cooper on Greif and community building. Many of the episodes have helped me through some tough moments. I highly recommend tuning in here: https://www.cnn.com/all-there-is-anderson-cooper (https://www.cnn.com/all-there-is-anderson-cooper)
I have some more helpful books on death and dying on my resources page: https://mountainhollowmedicinals.com/resources (https://mountainhollowmedicinals.com/resources)
Note: While I was away, my podcast host platform shifted over to an entirely new platform. So please bare with me as I relearn how to edit, add music, and remake my intro to future episodes. I promise I am working hard on ways to make this podcast sound better.
