About Drench Line Podcast
Most show families figure it out the hard way. They ask around, get partial answers, and fill in the rest on their own. Logan Newsom and Sam Silvers have been in the show industry long enough to have made most of those mistakes themselves — and they're sharing that wisdom with you. Drench Line is a podcast about sheep, goats, and everything that comes with life in the show world. When to vaccinate. How to pick your animal. What to expect at your first major show. What nobody standing on the sidelines will actually tell you. New episodes drop twice a month, and they don't sugarcoat a thing. Logan and Sam have been friends since they were teenagers working summers at a sheep ranch in Eden, Texas. Now they're both show dads raising their own families in world they grew up in. This show is their way of passing it on — not just to their kids, but to every family that's new to this and looking for someone to shoot straight. Coming soon! Drench Line is just getting started. Coming soon: voice memo questions answered on air, and guests who have genuinely shaped the show world — the breeders, stockmen, and industry figures whose names you already know. If there's someone you want to hear from, send your request to www.drenchline.com. Be part of the conversation! This show is built around the questions real families are asking. Got something you can't get a straight answer on? Submit your question at www.drenchline.com and it might just get answered on the next episode. Logan and Sam want to hear from you — that's not a throwaway line, it's the whole point.

Building an Elite Show Goat Program with Cade & Jamie Halfmann | Halfmann Livestock
Welcome to the first-ever Drench Line Breeder Spotlight. Sam and Logan traveled to The Little E in Garden City, Texas, to sit down with Cade and Jamie Halfmann of Halfmann Livestock, one of the most respected show goat programs in the country. Cade's family has been in the Boer goat business since they were brought into the United States in the early '90s, and he's watched the industry grow from half-blood goats shown on a long lead to the elite, flush-driven programs of today. He tells how he walked away from law school his final semester of college, bought The Little E with no plan (and no plan B), and grew 24 does into a program that now produces sale toppers and major show winners across the nation. Jamie brings a respected cattle background from Illinois, a sharp eye for structure, and the skin-and-hair expertise the Halfmann goats are known for. Together, they talk openly about marriage as a business partnership, balancing sale prices against putting goats in the right barns, and why the program took its biggest leap when they started running it like a business instead of a hobby. This one goes deep, and it doesn't sugarcoat: Why Cade built the doe base first: the power's in the female The hard year: recip conception problems and what a short kid crop costs you The real cost of entry, and Cade's advice for young breeders (starting with a good banker) Why Halfmann Livestock can fit any budget, and why the average show goat matters more than the sale toppers Xanax, Crank, and the sires shaping the program Breeding season in hot, dry country: less is more Jamie on structure, judging the Kansas City doe show, and a hot take on judge qualifications Why, at the end of the day, "we're in the kid business" Plus a first look at Goop, Jamie's new skin and hair conditioner - available to order now at https://goopmagic.com/. Stock Show Moms Take Over: Real Life Behind the Show Sheep & Show Goat Barn
The boys had a 9:30 tee time, so the wives took the mics. On this episode of Drench Line, Jenny Bett Newsom and Jurahee Silvers step in to host from Corpus Christi during the Ag Teachers Conference and pull back the curtain on what really happens behind the scenes in a nationally competitive show sheep and show goat family. Shout out to our Stock Show Moms title sponsor, Judy's Western Wares. Judy's has been handmaking show blankets, halters, tubes, wraps and muzzles right here in Texas for more than 30 years — and they'll customize almost anything, from chapter colors to embroidered awards to starter boxes for a kid's first sheep or goat. Shop Judy's Western Wares online here (https://judysww.myshopify.com/ (https://judysww.myshopify.com/)) and use code DRENCHLINE10 for 10% off your order. Jurahee shares how she and Sam met in the Fort Worth sheep barn and built Silvers Livestock in Junction, and Jenny Bett tells how a New Braunfels river girl whose dad didn't own a pair of blue jeans ended up buying 30 Finewool ewes with Logan before they were even married. From there, the stock show moms get into the questions every show family deals with: who actually runs the barn, who packs better, and how often husband and wife argue over a sheep or a goat (spoiler: daily). They talk about keeping siblings from competing against each other by splitting breeds and show days, and how they juggle sports, school, church, livestock, and full-time jobs. Paper calendars win this round. One of the most valuable segments is how to handle disappointment after a show. Jenny Bett shares the "take the long way back to the pens" rule her kids live by, and Jurahee explains why the show ring is a stage and every placing is one man's opinion on one day. Plus a rapid-fire round on favorite stock show food, favorite Texas major (Houston, and the layovers are why), sheep vs. goats, coffee orders, and one word to describe Logan and Sam. They close with honest talk about wanting to quit, their best barn hacks and organization tips (including the famous snackle box), and advice for every first-year show mom: find your people. The Stock Show Moms are coming back before Texas Majors — and they want your questions. Show prep, packing, sibling rivalry, stock show food, barn organization, you name it. Inside Two Texas FFA Programs | Show Goats, Show Steers & Ag Teacher Life
Recorded live at the Texas Ag Teachers Conference in Corpus Christi, this episode of the Drench Line sits down with two Texas ag teachers making a real difference in their FFA programs. First up is Kayla Hughes, who teaches ag at New Braunfels High School and oversees the sheep, goat, rabbit, and chicken projects there. Kayla walks through how New Braunfels' rapid growth has changed her program's demographics — blending long-time ag families with kids who've never set foot on a farm — and shares her own path into the industry, including a commercial goat lottery program back in Helotes and a few years of her childhood spent in Alaska (bear drills included). She gets real about the budget conversation every first-year show family needs to have, and tells the story of two seniors who bought their first goats and went on to win champion and reserve champion at the Comal County Show. Then Logan sits down with JT Kelley, ag teacher at Flatonia ISD and a third-generation educator. JT talks about walking away from a corporate sales job to get back into the classroom, what it's like working in a three-teacher ag program at a small 2A school, and why he thinks the future of stock shows is trending up — more ag barns, more first-generation show families, more growth. He also shares a great family story about his dad getting written up by his own father (the school principal) for skipping a faculty meeting. Both guests answer the same rapid-fire round — favorite breed, favorite fair food, coffee or energy drinks, and the one piece of advice every show family should hear — and land on the same core message: find people you trust, follow one program, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Back to School: Thank an Ag Teacher | Cody Peterson (Medina ISD) & Cam Anderson (Needville ISD)
A HUGE thank you to our Ag Teacher Series title sponsor, Judy's Western Wares (https://judysww.myshopify.com/). Judy's has been handmaking show blankets, halters, tubes, wraps and muzzles right here in Texas for more than 30 years — and they'll customize almost anything, from chapter colors to embroidered awards to starter boxes for a kid's first sheep or goat. Shop Judy's Western Wares online here and use code DRENCHLINE10 for 10% off your order. Kids are back to school, FFA chapters are gearing up for a new year, and there's no better time to say thank you to the people who make the whole thing run — ag teachers. In Part 1 of our new Ag Teacher mini-series, recorded live at the Texas Ag Teachers Conference in Corpus Christi, Logan sat down with two guys who've spent their careers building programs from scratch and keeping kids (and their families) headed in the right direction. First up is Cody Peterson, now in his 21st year teaching ag and currently at Medina ISD after building a powerhouse program in Ballinger — right in the heart of sheep and goat country. Cody talks about growing up on the cattle side before learning to love sheep and goats in Runnels County, building a swine program from 25 head to 150, and the advice he gives every new show family who walks through his office door: figure out their budget first, then find the species that fits it. Then Cameron "Cam" Anderson, ag teacher at Needville ISD, joins to talk about his own full-circle story — leaving Needville for a judging career at South Plains and Texas Tech (where he was an All-American), a stint as the McCulloch County extension agent in Brady, a detour into oilfield chemical sales, and finally coming home to teach the next generation. Cam talks about running a judging pipeline that starts in third grade, balancing kids who are all-in with kids who landed in his class by accident, and the lesson his own mentors taught him about never giving up. Both guys touch on a lot of the same ground — patience, budgeting a show project, leaning on breeders and mentors instead of trying to do it alone, and why the kids (not the banners) are the whole point. If you've ever wondered what actually goes on behind the scenes of a good ag program, or you just want a reason to go hug your kid's ag teacher this fall, this one's for you. Show Sheep and Goat Question & Answer Session (Part 2)
This episode was recorded riverside on the San Antonio River Walk, right after a two-and-a-half-hour sit-down with Dr. Brian Faris, competitive director for the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo — circle back to Episode 10 if you haven't already. For now, Sam and Logan sat down to knock out round two of listener Q&A, picking up where Episode 9 left off. First up, Donna Jo asks how smaller exhibitors can brace bigger lambs without getting pushed around — Sam and Logan break down halter breaking, hand walking, buying sheep that actually fit the kid's size, and why "good enough" beats chasing perfection on a back leg. Jace wants to know the best exercises for building muscle on a show sheep or goat, so the guys walk through their track, treadmill, and walker rotation, plus exactly how many days a week they train once they're inside that 60–90 day window before a show. Claire asks how often to change leg wraps (weekly, with a laundry-service hack you'll want to steal), Brad wants to know how to stop a sheep from shaking its head while driving, and Brittany asks whether a market wether needs a buddy at home. Sean and Shauna close things out with a great one for Midwest families: how does a Texas show timeline compare to a Midwest show season, and how should you adjust your own feeding curve accordingly. Sam and Logan also tease a handful of topics they're saving for full episodes down the road — breaking into the Texas sheep market as a Midwest breeder, building relationships with traders, spotting fake sale photos, judging trends, AI breeding, and a deeper dive into health and doctoring. Plus a quick update on what's happening at home: heat stress, parasite pressure, a scrapie case out west, and the fall fair shows both guys have circled on the calendar. Subscribe on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube. Submit your questions at DrenchLine.com — Sam and Logan are working through the backlog and want to hear what's on your mind. The Rumor Mill vs. Reality: San Antonio's Dr. Brian Faris on Show Livestock Rule Changes
We had the opportunity to sit down in San Antonio with Dr. Brian Faris, Director of Competitive Events for the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, for a long, honest conversation about where one of the biggest shows in Texas is headed — and we mean long. This one runs over two hours, so buckle in. Dr. Faris opens up about his path into the role — growing up in sheep and goat country, his years at Texas A&M, Kansas State and North Carolina, and the twist that took him from being his own kids' ag teacher to running one of the largest livestock shows in the country. From there we get into it: San Antonio's mission and how a 7,000-volunteer, 1,500-person livestock-show operation actually functions day to day. Then the stuff you've been asking about — the chairs-and-campground space debate, why San Antonio moved the Premium ("Fast") Pass to a randomized draw, the jump in trailer minimums, new scholarships for commercial ewes, does, and crossbred gilts, the yearling classification and mouth-checking changes, and the leg wool / leg hair debate that's been burning up Facebook. Dr. Faris also addresses the rumor mill head-on — including some of the more pointed questions we've heard from exhibitors and from our own DMs. We close it out with a rapid-fire round, a good conversation about the Dorper breed and where commercial sheep production is headed in Texas, and a rundown of just how much San Antonio puts back into kids every February — north of $7 million through the junior auction alone. We want to say thank you to Dr. Faris for the time, for the candor, and for sitting through two hours of our questions. We kept this one raw and real, the way we always do. We Answer YOUR Show Goat & Sheep Questions: Feed, Drenching, Bedding & Doctoring | Drench Line Ep. 9
Sam and Logan are on the road, recording poolside from the Lively Beach Condos (https://livelybeach.com/?psafe_param=1&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22249966451&gbraid=0AAAAACUXe1r7IaU4k8qV0oUzL64RjKYDl&gclid=CjwKCAjwyabTBhBFEiwAM3mNUAqsj5qw6VNt-rcJp68nz_ch6EsHuGsqrUQytZSjfTf7ZV1mFCQZTxoC7LMQAvD_BwE), during their no-expenses paid trip to the Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas (https://www.texasagteachers.org/) Professional Development Conference in Corpus Christi, Texas. This episode is dedicated entirely to answering the flood of listener questions that have piled up over the last few weeks. As Logan puts it, "we've probably already had enough to do two full episodes," and this is only round one. Danielle kicks things off with a two-parter: when should beginners start using supplements, and how do protein and fat levels actually factor into feeding decisions? Sam and Logan break down why they keep their supplement list lean, lean on gut-health products from day one, and adjust protein and fat based on each individual animal's build. Clara wants to know how to become a better feeder and which supplements actually move the needle — the guys get real about trial and error and reading ingredient labels instead of chasing hype. Amy asks for their go-to products for fill, flank, and drenching, which leads into a great explanation of the "pendulum" approach to drenching at a show. Kenley asks what to do when sheep start sorting feed or going off feed (hint: don't panic and switch rations). Jordan asks for a rundown on monitoring health, giving injections, and building a basic doctoring protocol — including the specific medicine cabinet basics Sam keeps on hand. And Adam closes it out asking about the best bedding, with a full breakdown of shavings vs. cedar fiber vs. dirt pens. This one's packed with practical, "we've made these mistakes too" honesty — exactly the kind of episode that gets requested again and again. Got a question of your own? AI Breeding Season for Show Sheep: Managing Stress, Genetics & Popular Bucks | Drench Line Ep. 8
Sam and Logan are recording live from Doc's Bar and Grill in Corpus Christi, Texas, during the 2026 Texas Ag Teachers Conference — squeezing in a little fishing and golf between talking through where they're both at heading into AI and flush season. This episode is less about troubleshooting and more about strategy: how two operations with different genetics and different goals are making breeding decisions right now. Sam and Logan walk through what they've already bred this year, what's coming up on the flush calendar, and the nutrition and low-stress handling protocols they lean on to keep donor ewes settled — including a story about one dominant ewe wrecking an entire flush pen's results. From there they get into the buck conversation everyone wants to hear: which sires they're using, which ones they're watching, and why. They run through names like Warpaint, Never a Doubt, Quinella, Bad Man, Frontline, Chief, Unicorn, War Wagon, Prep, and more of this year's most talked-about show sheep sires — plus a candid take on the industry's current hottest buck, Behind Enemy Lines. The bigger theme running through the whole conversation: the difference between breeding for the next hot buck and breeding for consistency. Sam and Logan talk openly about resisting the urge to chase trends, the value of actually seeing a sire in person before committing semen dollars, and why building a program around the $750–$2,000 customer matters just as much as chasing the elite ones. No guest this week, but stick around — Episode 9 is shaping up to be a listener Q&A episode, so if you've submitted a question, it's coming. Subscribe on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube. Life in the Show Barn: Raider McPhaul & Quentin Cox Talk Sheep, Goats, Girls & Growing Up in Ag
We're back with our second episode recorded post-golf tournament at Lajitas Golf and Resort outside Terlingua, Texas — bug spray in hand, Badlands Margaritas nearby, and zero notes prepared. Sam Silvers and Logan Newsom traded their usual listener-question-and-answer deep dives for a raw and real, no-notice interview with two young leaders in the show sheep and goat industry: Raider McPhaul of Big Lake, and Quentin Cox out of Fredericksburg. Raider and Quentin get put on the spot with a rapid-fire mix of sheep-related and just-for-fun questions — future plans in the industry, how they each learned to show, the hardest part of showing sheep and goats, track vs. treadmill, favorite show and sale, and the products and judges they trust most. There's also a candid check-in on their love lives, a Texas Tech vs. Texas A&M debate, all while Sam gets carried away by a Lajitas mosquito. Subscribe on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube. Summer Show Livestock Management: New World Screwworm, Track Training & Keeping Them Cool
Episode 6 of The Drench Line comes to you live from Lajitas Golf Resort in far west Texas — mosquitoes, heat, and all. Sam Silvers and Logan Newsom sat down between tee times to tackle what's been on every show livestock producer's mind lately: New World Screwworm. They kick things off with a straightforward take — it's serious, it's manageable, and the worst thing you can do right now is nothing. Sam walks through what he's actually doing to protect Shep and Staton's show animals: logging every Dectomax treatment in a steno book — dates, dosages, and lot numbers — so he has documentation ready if USDA or Texas Animal Health Commission comes knocking. It's not required; it's just smart. If you're not keeping records right now, this episode will make you start. From there, they break down what the show barn protocol looks like in real time: a Dectomax shot for freshly banded or recently castrated animals (good for roughly 21 days of protection), screw worm aerosol on any open wounds, and a watchful eye — especially on banded wethers, where the wound isn't always easy to spot at a glance. Logan also flags an often-overlooked area: fine wool sheep with busted or shelled horns. That wound at the base of the horn is exactly where problems can start. The conversation shifts to the producer side, with Sam and Logan sharing how the screw worm situation has changed their flush and AI plans. Sam pushed his June flush back to July to get a solid protocol in place before putting ewes back on pasture. Logan breaks down what they've landed on: suture or staple every wound off the cart, hit it with Alu-Shield, spray with Dectomax, and hope that 21-day window carries you through. They also dig into fly systems, the wound coat vs. Alu-Shield debate (Sam is a purple wound coat guy; Logan makes a case for the silver spray in AI scenarios), and when Co-Ral still earns a spot in the rotation. Second half of the episode covers summer maintenance — what it looks like to keep show animals healthy, cool, and moving in the right direction without pushing too hard too early. Track introduction, treadmill training, halter breaking, stand training, and why waiting until you need conditioning is already too late. Subscribe on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube. First Year Sheep Owner? Everything You Need to Know About Cocci, Heel Mites & Summer Care
Episode 5 of The Drench Line comes to you live from the legendary Friday Night Fever — one of the premier show goat sales in the United States — held in the Sheep and Goat headquarters of the world in San Angelo, Texas. Sam Silvers and Logan Newsom dig into a deep mailbag of listener questions covering show sheep and goat health, management, and everything in between. Listener Kristine kicked things off with a loaded first-year-sheep-owner question: vaccinations, cocci prevention, pen vs. pasture, companion animals, and what to do when an animal starts acting sick. Sam and Logan cover why a pen setup gives you better daily observation and handling, why a buddy animal reduces stress and improves outcomes, and how cocci management really works — fecal samples, a solid vet relationship, and the role of medicated feeds like those containing Rumensin or Decox. Irene asked about heel mites — and got a quick rundown on how to identify them, plus treatment options: Dectomax or Ivomec injectable, Prolate Lintox, or Ivomec pour-on on the heels. For the full breakdown, go back to Episode 4. Isaac asked two big ones: how to use Rumensin for coccidia prevention (answer: it's labeled for goats, off-label for sheep — get a vet script) and what to do when animals go off feed during a transition. Logan walks through the 75/25 blending strategy to ease that switch over 5–7 days without crashing their gut. Leonard wanted the real talk on dewormer dosing — should you double it on goats? Sam and Logan break down why metabolism matters and why products like Safeguard, Ivomec, Valbazen, and Cydectin aren't all treated the same way. Trace Titus asked about copper. Short answer: never for show sheep, required for goats. Logan also covers the mineral program he relies on with the Purify product. The guys wrap with a real-talk segment on summer vacation planning with livestock — yes, you can take a trip. But you need a plan and someone trustworthy lined up before you leave. Then, the big one: Kevin Mock, founder of Friday Night Fever, joins as the show's first-ever guest. He shares the origin story of the sale, what makes it different from every other sale out there, and his top three tips for show goat success. Subscribe to The Drench Line on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube. Got a question? Submit it at www.DrenchLine.com — we answer listener questions every episode. Vaccinations, Deworming, Halter Breaking & Building a Routine: First Steps at Home
You wrote the check. You loaded them up. Now what? Episode four of the Drench Line Podcast picks up exactly where episode three left off — Sam Silvers and Logan Newsom are walking you through everything that happens from the moment you back up to the pens and unload that new animal to the point where you've got a routine locked in and things are rolling. The guys kick things off with what they consider the foundation of a good start: stress management. New environment, new dirt, new weather, new pen mates — it all adds up fast. And when those first dominoes fall, you can find yourself chasing problems all summer long. Sam and Logan break down how to get ahead of it with a smart day-one protocol covering the six things they're thinking about right out of the trailer: cocci, respiratory issues, external parasites like heel mites, CDT vaccination, internal parasites, and ear ticks. From there, the conversation dives into product-specific talk — CDT boosters, Dectomax, Safeguard, Valbazen, Cydectin, nasal vaccines, Rumensin in the feed, Corid, and the Liquid Boost and Hydro Boost products they run through their medicators year-round. As always, they remind listeners: consult your veterinarian before doing anything. The episode also covers halter breaking step by step, the importance of starting young and starting slow, building a daily routine that actually fits your family's schedule, getting animals introduced to the treadmill early, and why weight tracking throughout the year pays off when things start moving in the fall. Sam and Logan close with the biggest mistake families make in the first seven days — and let's just say "dumbassery" becomes an official podcast term. Listener Q&A wraps things up with Abigail asking about drenching protocol at summer jackpots — and the answer might surprise you. Have questions about your sheep or goat project? How to Select Your Show Sheep: From the Basics to the Bells & Whistles
Episode three of the Drench Line podcast picks up right where the selection conversation left off. Hosts Sam Silvers and Logan Newsom are deep in project buying season, recording live from Texas Tech University ahead of the 806 Live sale, and they're getting real about what it actually takes to find the right animal — from first glance in the pen all the way to signing the check. What needs to catch your eye when walking into a pen of lambs? They think body shape, forearm, and big pins. Not complicated, but non-negotiable. The conversation also covers what separates a $3,500 sheep from a $15,000 one — AKA the bells and whistles. They give their honest thoughts on leg hair as an indicator of care, chest depth and chest-to-flank ratio, touch quality, and color. Logan and Sam also hit the one absolute deal-breakers that send them walking: chest width and bad hind leg structure. The guys dive into gut instinct versus checklist buying, and how rising prices in the show livestock industry have pushed even the most instinct-driven buyers toward doing their homework. Sam shares his three gut-check questions before committing to an animal, and Logan explains his hunter-gatherer approach to stocking a barn full of options for multiple families and multiple shows. To close, they tackle listener Q&A — covering whether to feed hay (and what kind) from Samantha, fine blades versus surgical blades for a Southdown from Chance, and the great chain halter vs. rope halter debate. Spoiler: rope halters don't have many fans in this room. Looking at you, #ropehaltercrew. Whether you're a seasoned Texas major show family or a first-time stock show dad just trying to figure it all out, this episode is loaded with practical, honest advice straight from two guys living it every day. Have a Plan: Selecting Your First Show Animal & Surviving Your First Live Sale
Sam and Logan are back for Episode 2 of the Drench Line, and they're getting right into it — this week is all about the buying process, from that very first conversation with a breeder all the way to pulling into your driveway with an animal in the trailer. The guys kick things off talking about what it actually looks like when a new family walks onto the property looking to buy their first show lamb or goat. Spoiler: the number one question breeders get isn't about genetics or bloodlines — it's about price. And while that's completely understandable, Sam and Logan both agree the more important conversation is about goals. What are you trying to accomplish? Who's judging? What show are you shoping for, and when? That dialogue between buyer and breeder is where the right animal gets found — and where families get set up for success instead of disappointment. From there, they dive into what it looks like to walk into a live sale as a first-time buyer. It's exciting, it's fast, and it can get expensive in a hurry if you don't have a plan. The guys break down exactly what that plan should look like: preview the animals beforehand, take notes, know your budget before you walk through the door, and — don't forget — have a way to haul your animal home. You'd be surprised. They also talk about the value of unbiased previews, why talking to the breeder before you bid can be a game changer, and what to do the moment that new animal arrives at your place (hint: CDT, wormer, vaccinations and a coccidia program are a good start). They wrap up teasing what's coming in future episodes — including a deep dive into why show animals cost what they cost, how IVF and flush programs play into pricing, and why the most expensive animal in the pen isn't always the right one for your kid. No question is a dumb question. Submit them on www.drenchline.com.

Welcome to the Drench Line: Two Show Dads, A Lot of Mistakes, and One Very Deep Hole in Eden, Texas
Every podcast has to start somewhere — and for the Drench Line, it starts exactly the way it should: two guys from the show barn, a story about digging a hole, and a whole lot of honesty about what it actually takes to navigate the show sheep and goat world. Sam Silvers and Logan Newsom are the first to admit this is their first rodeo when it comes to podcasting. But when it comes to show livestock? Between the two of them, they've got decades of showing, feeding, fitting, judging, and yes — making just about every mistake in the book. In this debut episode, Sam and Logan introduce themselves, tell the story of how they first met working summers for Rex Stultz in Eden, Texas, and lay out exactly what the Drench Line is going to be — raw, honest, and built for the families who need real answers from people who've actually been there. Here's what they get into: Sam's road from Salado to South Plains to Texas Tech, a two-year stint in the U.S. Border Patrol, and his current role with BioZyme Inc. Logan's journey from the Texas Panhandle to Angelo State football to full-time sheep producer The infamous eight-foot hole they dug in Eden — and the mystery of filling it back in Why sheep and goats are the perfect first livestock project for young exhibitors What the Drench Line is really about: bridging the gap for first-time families who don't always know who to ask Sam and Logan are quick to say this show will only get better from here — and we believe them. Episode 2 is already going to be a problem: they're tackling how to pick out your show animal, and they already know they won't agree on a single thing. Hit follow so you don't miss it. 🐑 00:00 — Welcome to the Drench Line: Introducing the Show 00:30 — Sam Silvers: Salado, Eden, South Plains & Texas Tech 01:30 — Sam's Time in the U.S. Border Patrol — a Side Most People Don't Know 02:00 — Logan Newsom: Texas Panhandle, Angelo State Football & Full-Time Sheep Producer 03:30 — How Sam and Logan First Met at Rex Stultz's in Eden, Texas 05:00 — The Hole Story: Rex Made Them Dig It — Then Made Them Fill It Back Up 06:45 — Now They're Show Dads — and Their Boys Are Best Friends at the Stock Shows 07:30 — Why Sheep and Goats Are the Perfect First Project for Young Exhibitors 09:00 — What the Drench Line Is Really About: Honest Answers for Real Families 10:30 — "I've Made Every Mistake in the Book" — Why That Matters More Than Being the Smartest Guy in the Room 12:00 — Coffee Thoughts and Tapping Into Industry Knowledge 13:00 — Future Episodes and Guests — Reaching Out to the People They Lean On 13:30 — Next Episode Preview: Picking Out Your Show Animal (They Already Know They Won't Agree)
