Rediscovering Rest - The Sabbath and The Lord's Day
In this episode of Dress and Keep, we dive deep into the meaning, purpose, and transformation of the Sabbath and the Lord’s Day. Why do Christians worship on Sunday? What does the Sabbath reveal about God’s heart for His people? How does Christ redefine rest in the New Covenant?
Join us as we explore these questions with my pastor, friend, and brother in Christ, Dmitriy Spatarel of Veritas Bible Church. We’ll walk through the historical, theological, and redemptive significance of the Sabbath, unpack its fulfillment in Christ, and discuss how believers today can embrace true rest.
This is a rich conversation filled with biblical insight, practical application, and challenging questions. It’s a long episode, so feel free to listen in chunks—whether on your commute, during your workout, or while preparing for your own day of rest.
As always, Thank You For Listening

Vain and Transformative Church Culture
If culture is "religion externalized," what is the culture in my church? Is this culture transformative and sanctifying, or is it vain and more like the world? And how do I know?
In this episode, we engage in another dining room table discussion centered around the topic of culture. Our hope is that you find this conversation both enjoyable and insightful, particularly as you consider the cultural dynamics at play within a church you are attending or thinking about joining. Exploring how a church’s culture aligns with your distinctions can greatly inform your decision-making process. We hope this discussion aids you in prayerfully and thoughtfully finding a church community.

Children, Chores and Cheerfulness
"What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God… We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the position and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow."
-Martin Luther
In this episode, we discuss ways to encourage work ethic and responsibility in young children.

Suffering with Purpose and The Joy that is set Before us
Why is there still suffering?
Why do bad things happen to good people?
If your God is so loving, why is there so much evil in the world?
These are common questions you will hear from unbelievers and, sadly, sometimes even believers.
As James says, how can we "count it all joy" when we find ourselves suffering amid trials?
These are some of the critical questions we discuss in this episode, as well as how we can understand that Christian suffering is not arbitrary or pointless but has a profound purpose. We hope you will listen to this conversation with a fellow brother in Christ discussing how to suffer well in a fallen world.

Not Just A Mom
In Today's episode, our Special guest Aryana Meza @saltywifelife discusses motherhood and identity with Sara.
When women transition into motherhood, they often feel they have "lost themselves" and start to wonder who they are now that they've become a mother. Many face an identity crisis and can easily fall into resentment for their roles as mothers. It doesn't help that society doesn't take motherhood seriously, either. In this recording, the ladies discuss where we should place our identity, how to bring mothering back to God's glory, and how to navigate the desire for affirmation and recognition.

Shepherds or Sitcoms
Men, the world has proclaimed you the "Sitcom Dad." The buffoon who knows more about current athletes' stats than the status of your own home. By his own passivity, the Sitcom dad has subjected himself to this standard and expectation. Be the Shepherd scripture commands you to be, not the man your wife has trained into passivity. Your wife thinks she needs it, but she doesn't. Scripture calls you to be a Shepherd within your home; God has gifted you with your family. They are your sheep; lead them well.
The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. 2 Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4 He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, 5 for if someone does not know how to manage his own home, how will he care for God’s church? 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil. 7 Moreover, he must be well thought of by outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, into a snare of the devil.

The Necessity of Forgiveness.
In todays episode we discuss forgiveness and bitterness. Without the forgiveness of sins, there is no salvation. We give others a small glimpse of the gospel when we quickly and unconditionally offer forgiveness. How should we forgive? Do we forgive for our own sake? What does scripture say about forgiveness? The books we mention are “How to be Free from Bitterness” by Jim Wilson and “The Mortification of Sin” by John Owen. We highly recommend them both for a more detailed look at these topics. Thank you for listening in. We hope you leave todays episode feeling challenged and encouraged.
