#24 The Rise of Compute as an Asset Class: How Bitcoin Miners are Reshaping Infrastructure
Bitcoin mining is no longer a niche industry—it’s becoming a cornerstone of global digital infrastructure.
In this episode of Drilling into Crypto, Mohamed El-Masri is joined by Charley Brady, VP, Investor Relations at BitFuFu (NASDAQ: FUFU) to explore how Bitcoin mining is evolving into an institutional asset class attracting public markets, enterprise capital, and long-term infrastructure investors.
We discuss the rise of cloud mining, the financialization of hashrate, and why mining companies are increasingly being viewed as energy and compute businesses rather than simply Bitcoin producers. Charley also shares insights into how institutional investors evaluate mining companies, the future of global mining infrastructure, and why access to affordable, reliable energy will define the next generation of industry leaders.
Whether you’re an investor, miner, energy executive, or simply interested in the future of energy-to-compute infrastructure, this episode offers a behind-the-scenes look at where one of the industry’s largest publicly traded mining platforms sees the market heading.
Topics include:
- The institutionalization of Bitcoin mining
- Cloud mining and democratizing access to hashrate
- Public markets and mining company valuations
- Energy infrastructure as a competitive advantage
- The future of Bitcoin mining in a global economy

#23 How Sustainable Bitcoin Mining Can End Energy Colonialism
In this episode of Drilling into Crypto, Mohamed El-Masri sits down with Owen Vaughan, Founder of Bitroots.io, to explore how Bitcoin mining can evolve into a sustainable engine for economic inclusion, become a global ESG policy, and a contributor to alleviating energy poverty.
In this episode, we explore how using blockchain-based ESG certification technology can transform Bitcoin Mining into a sustainable practice that boosts energy access, reduces waste, and empowers underserved communities—turning mining from an extractive model into a force that alleviates energy poverty.
We dig into why current energy systems often create “energy colonialism” and how decentralized Bitcoin mining could flip the script by monetizing stranded power and creating local financial opportunity. This is a forward-looking conversation on how Bitcoin’s proof-of-work can be part of a more equitable energy future—not at odds with sustainability, but in service of it.

#22 Economic Wars, Fiat Collapse & Bitcoin’s Case for Transparency
In this episode of Drilling into Crypto, Mohamed El-Masri sits down with Bjørn Kienholz Bjercke, known as "Mr. Bitcoin Norway", to confront the uncomfortable realities shaping the global financial system. We explore how economic wars, sanctions, and monetary weaponization are accelerating the erosion of fiat currencies—and why globalization has quietly stripped individuals of real monetary choice.
Bjørn explains how Bitcoin offers an alternative: a transparent, borderless system where people can choose their money rather than have it imposed. The conversation revisits Bjørn’s pivotal role in exposing the OneCoin fraud, one of the largest financial scams in history, and dismantles the myth that Bitcoin thrives on criminal activity. We examine how ISPs, blockchain analysis, and open ledgers make Bitcoin one of the most traceable financial systems ever created—turning the “illicit use” narrative on its head. This episode is not about price.
It’s about power, transparency, and freedom of choice in a world where money is increasingly used as a weapon.
