Drink of Choice is the podcast where every conversation starts with a simple question: what is your drink of choice?
Hosted by Sid Kim and Han Kim, we kick things off the same way every time. We ask our guest what they're drinking and what it means to them. Then we raise a glass together, and that's when the real conversation begins, letting things flow, talking about life, the journey, and the choices that got them where they are today.
We sit down with artists, entrepreneurs, attorneys, restaurateurs, content creators, and the list keeps growing. Asian and Asian American voices across every industry, at every stage of life. Some are just starting out. Some are decades in. Some are starting over.
The goal is to build a library. A place anyone can find someone whose path looks like their own. The wins, the failures, the parts nobody talks about.
No agenda. No script. Just good people and honest stories.

EP23 CJ Yu - Inside Amazon Studios, TMZ, and Mark Burnett
CJ Yu has spent his career inside the rooms where shows get made - Mark Burnett Productions, E! News, Endemol, TMZ, and seven years at Amazon Studios running unscripted development around the world.
He got there by interning everywhere from his first quarter at UCLA, choosing unscripted partly because he didnβt want to read any more bad scripts, and learning how to sell a twenty-million-dollar show in a ten-minute meeting. At some point he decided his own name was going to cost him the first phone call, and he did something about it... here on the Drink of Choice.
Drink of Choice is a long-form interview podcast hosted by restaurateur Sid Kim and entertainment lawyer Han Kim. Every guest arrives with a drink that means something to them, and that drink becomes the doorway into a much larger conversation. Built around Asian and Asian-American voices that don't always get a seat at the table, Drink of Choice is intimate, unhurried, and long overdue.

EP22 Emily Chang - She raised 18 kids nobody asked her to
Emily Chang has held C-suite roles at Starbucks, Apple, IHG, and Chagee. Sheβs also the founder of something called The Spare Room - never planned, never formalized, never publicized. Over 25 years, she and her husband quietly took in 18 kids. Child brides. A boy with hydrocephalus. A baby born with spina bifida.
Before any of that, she was pre-med - until a hospital hallway in 7th grade changed everything. And before that, there was a baby named Delceda, whose parents tried to cook her alive.

EP21 Shay Fan - The Southern fried Asian at Meta
Shay Fan grew up in Dallas, took the LSAT, lasted a year at a law firm, and ran. What came after was tech PR in San Francisco back when Twitter was still Twitter, a stint at Skype, marketing cancer drugs for a pharma giant, a desk outside a Hollywood producer's office, and now Meta, where she runs Instagram for Business and a program built for the AAPI community. She's also a published children's author with a favorite icebreaker: millions of people have seen her face and don't know her name.
Her drink of choice was an espresso tonic. What she got was espresso in a skull glass and a bottle of Pellegrino, because Han asked an AI instead of asking her... here on the Drink of Choice.
