   Before the Battle

This sermon explores the structure of the Epistle of Jude, identifying it as a 'battlefield letter' designed to equip believers to contend for the faith. The teaching highlights the chiastic structure of the book, which bookends the central theme of apostasy with the assurance of the Christian's salvation. Drawing parallels to military preparation, the message emphasizes that believers are sanctified, preserved, and called by God, providing a secure foundation before engaging in spiritual conflict. The enemy's primary tactic is described as instilling doubt regarding God's Word, promises, and the believer's standing, whereas the Christian response is rooted in the full assurance of faith, hope, and understanding. The sermon concludes by urging believers to rest in God's mercy and peace, maintaining a posture of compassion and resilience as they navigate the challenges of the last days. Questions: Why does the book of Jude begin and end with assurance? What does the Bible mean by full assurance of faith? How can a Christian know for sure that they are saved? What does Jude mean when he says Christians are sanctified, preserved, and called? What does it mean to be preserved in Jesus Christ? Can a Christian have complete assurance of eternal life? Why is assurance important before contending for the faith? How does Satan use doubt to attack Christians? Why does Satan try to make Christians doubt the Word of God? What does it mean to earnestly contend for the faith in Jude 3? Who are the apostates Jude warns Christians about? Why does Jude warn about false teachers inside the church? Does God protect Christians during spiritual battles?

Warning! Coven Academy to be Released

Dr. David Brown, Pastor Emeritus of the First Baptist Church in Oak Creek, has a Masters in Theology and a Ph.D in History, specializing in the history of the English Bible. In addition to his study of the English Bible, he's also president of Logos Communications Consortium. For years he has conducted research on witchcraft, the occult, fantasy role playing games and The Dark Side of Halloween. Note this from I Peter 5:8, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." Satan is subtle. Scripture refers to him as the "god of this world", as "the prince of the power of the air" as "the father of lies" as a "destroyer", as one who is "the deceiver of the whole world," and yet as one who transforms himself "as an angel of light." With this in mind, this edition of Crosstalk comes as a warning concerning a new series coming out first on Freeform then on Disney+, Hulu, and Freeform On Demand. It's called Coven Academy which reportedly "follows three teenage witches and their dangerously charming warlock peers an at elite magic school where power is currency, secrets are lethal, and attraction is a liability." So become informed and hear the background of the characters behind Coven Academy, excerpts from the trailer, why the concepts of good witches/bad witches and white magic/black magic are false, and finally how Scripture clearly shows that this program is promoting the occult. Wedding Band or Hand?

This devotional addresses the theological question of whether a believer can lose their salvation by examining Hebrews 6:1-8. It distinguishes between true saving faith, which creates an unbreakable union with Christ, and mere profession of faith, which can be lost. Using the analogy of a wedding band versus a body part, the message clarifies that while genuine believers are secure in God's covenant, those who only outwardly participate in church life without true trust in Jesus are at risk of falling away. The passage serves not to terrify the faithful but to urge all Christians to soberly examine their hearts and ensure their faith is substantive rather than superficial.
