Episode 10: Snip Happens
✂️ Snip Happens 🍇 Nobody likes being pruned. When life gets uncomfortable, doors close, relationships change, or God starts cutting away things we thought we needed, it's easy to wonder, "God...what are You doing?" In this episode of Duct Tape and Jesus, we're diving into one of Jesus' most powerful teachings from John 15. He calls Himself the True Vine, us the branches, and his Father the Gardener. The pruning isn't punishment—it's preparation. Sometimes God cuts back what is good so He can produce something even greater. We'll talk about:🍇 What it really means to abide in Christ✂️ Why God prunes the people He loves🌱 How pruning leads to greater fruitfulness❤️ How to trust God when the cutting hurts🙌 The incredible promise waiting on the other side of obedience If you're in a season where life feels like it's being trimmed back, this episode is for you. Don't give up—the Gardener knows exactly what He's doing. Because sometimes... Snip Happens. 😉 📖 Key Scripture: John 15:1-8 Remember: Duct Tape and Jesus can fix anything! Jesus Loves you! Episode 9 - Flex Your Jesus Muscle
💪 Flex Your Jesus Muscle **Trigger Warning listed at end of description** Just like your body doesn't get stronger without consistent training, neither does your faith. In this episode of Duct Tape and Jesus, we talk about what it means to train your Jesus muscle—preparing yourself for spiritual battles and learning to respond like Christ when you're faced with temptation, hatred, conflict, and the everyday challenges of life. Through Scripture, we explore how God uses discipline, trials, and daily obedience to strengthen us so that when the moment comes, our first response reflects Jesus instead of our flesh. Scriptures Covered 1 Timothy 4:7–8 James 1:2–4 Hebrews 5:14 Romans 12:17–21 Matthew 5:44 1 Peter 2:23 Join us as we discuss how spiritual strength isn't built overnight—it's developed one faithful step, one trial, and one act of obedience at a time. ⚠️ Trigger Warning: This episode includes a discussion of an accidental gunshot wound from 47:35–54:26. Episode 8: Not Every GOAT is the Greatest of All Time...
As Jesus concludes the Olivet Discourse, He tells a sobering story about a future judgment where the King separates the sheep from the goats. While our culture celebrates being the "GOAT" (Greatest Of All Time), Jesus reveals that not every goat ends up where they expect. In Matthew 25:31-46, we examine one of Jesus' most challenging teachings: the judgment of the nations and His famous statement, "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did for Me." In this episode, we discuss: The context of the Sheep and the Goats within the Olivet Discourse Who "the least of these" refers to The relationship between faith and works What genuine discipleship looks like in everyday life Jesus isn't teaching salvation by good deeds. Rather, He shows that a transformed heart produces transformed actions. The way we treat others reveals something deeper about our relationship with Him. Join us as we explore what it means to see Christ in those around us and why compassion, mercy, and service matter in the Kingdom of God. "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did for Me." — Matthew 25:40 Remember: Duct Tape and Jesus can fix anything! Jesus Loves you! Episode 6: Be Prepared!
🕯️ Do you have enough oil? In this episode of Duct Tape and Jesus, we jump into Matthew 25:1–13, the Parable of the Ten Virgins, and talk about what it really means to be ready for Christ’s return. Jesus tells the story of ten women waiting for the bridegroom. Five came prepared with extra oil for their lamps, and five… well… let’s just say they didn’t plan ahead very well. 😬 When the bridegroom finally arrived in the middle of the night, only the ones who were prepared were able to go into the wedding feast. So what does the oil represent? Why couldn’t the wise virgins just share? And what does this parable teach us about our personal relationship with Jesus? In this episode we talk about:🔥 What it means to keep your lamp full⏳ Why spiritual preparation matters🙏 Why your relationship with Jesus is something no one else can carry for you🚪 The powerful moment when the door was shut👀 And how Jesus calls us to stay watchful and ready We also get real about how easy it is to look ready on the outside but not actually be prepared on the inside. Faith isn’t something we can borrow from someone else—it has to be our own. Your pastor can’t lend it to you. Your parents can’t hand it to you. Your best friend can’t give you some of theirs. Just like in the parable… you have to bring your own oil. So grab your coffee, check your lamp, and join us for this conversation about faith, readiness, and keeping our hearts prepared for the return of Christ. ✨ Remember, duct tape and Jesus can fix anything. Episode 5: Cast Away
Episode 5 is here! In this episode, we talk about the powerful invitation found in First Epistle of Peter 5:7: “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” Life has a way of piling worries, stress, and burdens on our shoulders. We try to carry everything ourselves—our fears, responsibilities, uncertainties, and pain. But God never intended for us to live weighed down by it all. In “Cast Away,” we explore what it truly means to cast our cares on God. Not just to talk about our problems in prayer, but to release them into His hands. Just like casting a line into the water, this verse calls us to throw our worries far from us and trust that God will hold what we cannot. Join us as we unpack the context of this verse, talk about the difference between holding on and letting go, and discuss practical ways we can give our anxieties to God in our everyday lives. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, burdened, or worn down—this conversation is for you. As always, you can reach out to us via our facebook page or at our email: tapeandjesus@gmail.com Have a blessed week and remember, if duct tape can't fix it, Jesus can. Also.... Jesus Loves You!!!

Episode 4: Bible Trivia....that you can't google fast enough!
Think you know the Bible? Let’s put that to the test—but with a twist. In this episode, we’re playing multiple-choice Bible trivia, but we’re not stopping at the right answer. Each question opens the door to a mini Bible study, adding context, depth, and real-life application that goes far beyond trivia night faith. This isn’t about points or proving what you know. It’s about slowing down, digging deeper, and letting Scripture shape how we see God—and ourselves. Play along, reflect honestly, and don’t be surprised if a familiar story hits a little different this time. Jesus loves you! Jesus Said "Calm Down"
We recorded this episode during actual storms… which felt very on brand. In this episode of Duct Tape & Jesus, we’re talking about what happens when life gets loud, the waves get high, and Jesus is somehow sleeping in the boat. (Or is he?). We’re reminded that just because Jesus is calm doesn’t mean He’s absent—and just because the storm is real doesn’t mean it gets the final say. If you’ve ever panicked while Jesus stayed peaceful (relatable), this episode is for you. Trust isn’t about the absence of storms—it’s about knowing Who’s with you in them. If you’re walking through a season that feels loud, uncertain, or overwhelming, this one’s for you. Listen now Jesus is still in the boat Jesus loves you!
