To my surprise, I’m recording these in the midwest on a 60 degree December day. Lookin' For A Soul To Steal
In this first episode of Earth Noise, we explore the ways that music is used in cultural stories, and referenced within songs itself, as a tool for playing with or fending off devil and demon figures. The title of this episode comes from the song "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." You know, “The devil went down to Georgia, he was lookin' for a soul to steal.” That “soul to steal” is the whole theme of this episode.
