In this episode, Alison and Stefanie talk to Yuri Hauswald, who is the Elite Athlete and Community Manager at GU Energy Labs. Yuri’s experience in the outdoors, however, goes back a lifetime. Yuri Hauswald was raised on a farm in the rural California town of Petaluma. He came to prominence as an athlete first in lacrosse, and then cycling, in particular long-distance mountain biking and gravel cycling. In addition to being a competitive racer, Yuri has worked behind the scenes creating and overseeing events, volunteering and fundraising, mentoring, and writing for outdoor media outlets. In 2023 Yuri was named to the Gravel Cycling Hall of Fame.
