Fight Against Racism: South Asian communities and how to stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter

Since the inequitable murder of George Floyd, who was killed for being black, we have all come together to learn, listen and educate ourselves. We wanted to take this opportunity to explore how we, as the South Asian community, can be allies for our black brothers and sisters. We explore the issues of anti-blackness in the South Asian community, colourism, racism, 'brown privilege' and come to some conclusions about what more we should be doing while standing together against racism. We are honoured to have two very incredible guests Justina Omotayo and Mayeen Malik join us for this very important episode.

If you have any questions, email us at earwavespodcast@gmail.com

Mayeen Malik's article.

Organisations:
Black Lives Matter
Black Visions Collective
The Red Card
List of resources
