FRENCH DEMONSTRATIVE ADJECTIVES
Types and usage. In French, demonstrative adjectives are used to indicate and emphasize specific nouns. They agree in gender and number with the noun they modify. Here are the demonstrative adjectives in French:
1. **This (singular masculine):** *Ce* (e.g., *ce livre* - this book)
2. **This (singular feminine):** *Cette* (e.g., *cette chaise* - this chair)
3. **This (singular before a vowel or silent "h"):** *Cet* (e.g., *cet arbre* - this tree)
4. **These (plural masculine):** *Ces* (e.g., *ces livres* - these books)
5. **These (plural feminine):** *Ces* (e.g., *ces chaises* - these chairs)
