#5 - Goed Groot Miggelbrink
Een familieruzie in het jaar 1651 tussen Bernt Miggelbrink en zijn zes kinderen brengt ons op het spoor van boerderij Groot Miggelbrink. Volgens het rechtbankverslag dat bewaard is gebleven is de stam-overgrootvader van Frans een vermogend man, een uitzondering in de Achterhoek in de zestiende eeuw. Deze periode wordt gedomineerd door de Tachtigjarige Oorlog, waarin de regio voortdurend strijdtoneel is.

#4 - Vader Onbekend
Johanna Miggelbrink, doet als ongehuwde moeder in 1827 aangifte van de geboorte van haar zoon Joseph. Vader is op dat moment onbekend, zijn naam dus ook. Daarom neemt Joseph de achternaam van zijn moeder aan en dat is een schok voor Frans als hij hoort dat hij dus eigenlijk anders had moeten heten. In die tijd gebeuren er in Suriname en de rest van de wereld hele andere dingen, fortuin en rijkdom worden vergaard en daar merken ze ook in Terborg wat van.
