<p>El término κεχαριτωμένη (kejaritoméne) es una forma gramatical del verbo griego χαριτόω (charitóō), que significa «llenar de gracia», «favorecer abundantemente» o «dotar de gracia». Aparece en el Evangelio de Lucas 1,28, cuando el arcángel Gabriel saluda a María con las palabras: </p><p>Χαῖρε, κεχαριτωμένη, ὁ Κύριος μετὰ σοῦ </p><p>lo que en la traducción tradicional se vierte como: «Alégrate, llena de gracia, el Señor está contigo».
