If you're only running 34 lands, for instance, that's probably not enough for most casual environment commander decks out there, and that will make it tough for you to get decent opening hands, you're more likely to miss crucial land drops, and without that mana you'll fall behind, etc. Exciting cards are fun, but they mean nothing if you cannot cast them. You've probably heard that a good benchmark is 38 lands, I know some people are very exhausted by that conversation, but just as a quick thing, precons usually have like 38 or 37, and that honestly is also where a lot of my decks in bracket 2 and bracket 3 fall as well.
