<p>My name is Calvin James Trudeau, and I am a staff writer and editor for El Paisano Media studying at Rio Hondo College.</p><p>Our staff was in attendance the 2026 Journalism Association of Community Colleges (JACC) State Conference and Competition in San Fransisco, California. I competed in several competitions, with an on-the-spot audio news story being one of them. This podcast contains that entry and the story behind it.</p><p>Held jointly with the Associated College Press Spring National College Media Conference, JACC featured notable keynote speakers along with broadcast, mail-in, and on-the-spot competitions. </p><p>For my own entry, its story highlights the gap in lived experience between those with housing and those without. Enjoy and relate to your own life, dreams, and goals - why should you be punished for wanting to achieve them?</p>
