Okay, so… before you ever heard my name… there was already a war. Not like the loud kind on TV. No explosions. No bad guys in big boots.
It was… different. Quieter. But real.
(tiny pause—leans in, playful whisper) And guess what? I’m in it.
My name’s Adilla Thompson. I’m nine. I like snacks. And I ask a lot of questions.
Like… “Why is the world so mean sometimes?” “Why do people leave?” “Is God… listening?”
(gentle nodding tone) I think He is. Actually— I know He is.
Because every night, when I pray, my angel comes.
He kneels beside my bed… real quiet… and spreads his wings around me.
Huge ones. Like... glowing blankets made of light and fire and safety.
And while I sleep— he fights.
For me!
In the morning, I’m just regular again. Backpacks. Cartoons. Math problems.
But the truth? The fight doesn’t stop.
Because I’ve got a job. Even if nobody else sees it.
I’m little. But I’m chosen.
Not ‘cause I’m perfect. But ‘cause I believe.
This is my story. My fight. My light.
