Jurnal 14 [ Europe is learning a crucial lesson -- vaccines work, but they alone won't stop Covid ]

Name : Emilia Van Den NIM : 6411421013 Class :1 A Public Health NEWS 1 [Europe is learning a crucial lesson -- vaccines work, but they alone won't stop Covid now] As Western Europe's vaccination rollout gained strength in the early part of 2021, many of the region's leaders touted the shots as their immediate route out of the pandemic. Press conferences took on an almost celebratory tone as Presidents, Prime Ministers and Chancellors announced road maps away from Covid-19 restrictions, hailing their country's uptake rates and speaking colorfully about a return to normalcy. Ireland introduced a midnight curfew on the hospitality industry earlier this week amid a surge in cases, despite having one of Europe's best vaccination rates. In Portugal -- the envy of the continent, where 87% of the total population is inoculated -- the government is mulling new measures as infections inch upwards. NEWS 2 [Trump's ire grows as DeSantis' popularity with Republicans takes off] In a matter of months, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has gone from being a shining example in Donald Trump's eyes of a MAGA leader molded in his image to an average politician who forgot his roots as he rose to Republican stardom. People close to both men first noticed the palpable shift in Trump's posture toward DeSantis earlier this year as enthusiasm for the Florida governor swelled among donors and GOP operatives who praised his laissez-faire response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The more DeSantis' popularity soared, the more obsessed Trump became with receiving credit for his political celebrity. My experience while practicing vocabulary was starting from what I didn't like at first, it was confusing but because of that I often practiced reading and interpreting words in news.also practice listening skills and got new verb  and i hope i can speak english better.

Name : Emilia Van Den NIM : 6411421013 Class : 1A Public Health In the morning, Emil and Bianca are talking about the holidays Bianca : Hai emil Emil: hallo bianca , So what are you doing during the holidays? Any plans? Bianca: Yes! Actually I’m going on vacation. I’m going to Thailand for 2 weeks with my parents. Emil: That’s great! Have you visited Thailand before? Bianca: I’ve been there a few times. But it will be the first time for my parents. Emil: Ooh. How do they feel? I remember taking my parents with me to Malaysia. It was a little stressful. Parents are not easy to travel with sometimes. Bianca: My dad is a jumpy traveler but my mom is easy going. As long as they have Google translate and Google maps, they will be okay. We aren’t doing anything too crazy – Just relaxing on the beach for a week and then a few days visiting disparate cities. Emil: That’s great. My parents aren’t so brave. They get nervous leaving the house. How are the beaches? Bianca: Beautiful. There are a lot more tourists than before but still breathtaking. Emil: I can imagine. Bianca: The secret is to travel to the smaller towns. Most tourists don’t want to examine. If you drive an hour or two hours outside the big cities, it’s very quiet. Emil: How about the food? Bianca: Peppery! I’m a little solicitous my parents won’t be able to eat the food. They both love seafood but they don’t really like chilies. Thai people love chilies on everything. . .  So what about you? What’s your plan? Emil: I think I will take it easy. We spent way too much money on our last vacation. So this time we will have a staycation. We will stay at home and do nothing. Bianca: Those are nice. Emil: Yeah, perchance we’ll go to some new restaurants and watch a few movies. Nothing special. Bianca: Great! Well have a good holiday. Emil: You too. Good luck!

Runaway Runaway's song tell about believing that if he runs far enough to escape, he will reach a point where he is either forced to face the conflict he has been avoiding or he is out of his comfort zone. In the lyrics of Runaway aurora it's clear like she's lost something important in her life, but it doesn't seem like she has a called home because she keeps running away and ran to find a house. The house which is interpreted in this lyric is a comfortable place and makes him feel alive. Sorrow : berduka Farthest : terjatuh Impatient: tidak sabar Happier The song Happier by Olivia Rodrigo tell about someone who can't really let go of his lover's departure. Someone who is not really sincere his lover left him and has found someone new. This is an attitude that can be called selfish. when they love each other, they should be able to find the best to be able to maintain their relationship. However, if not, it means that one of them has felt something different, whether it's the feeling of love so that there is nothing else that can be done. wretched : malang fondly : penuh harapan selfish : egois eternal: kekal/abadi The experience after singing runaway and hapier songs is that the language used is quite easy to understand, my listening skills have improved. What are you thinking? Sasa: After graduating from high school, I want to continue my studies. I chose a private university. But my parents don’t allow it. Emil: Why is that? Sasa: My parents say that state universities are much better. Even though the accreditation of my chosen department at a private university is very good. After all, public or private is the same, right? Emil: That’s right, sa. Public or private are just as good. Because I think your goodness is not because of your alma mater’s name. It’s how you can make your alma mater proud. Sasa: Yes, . I thought so too. Emil: Now, let’s talk about this slowly to your parents. Hopefully your parents can understand your choice. Sasa: Certainly . Thank you for the exhortation you have given. It is very useful and helpful for me. Right now I’m very apprehensive. Emil: You’re welcome. That’s what friends are for. Sasa: By the way, are you also going to continue your studies? Emil: Of course. As much as possible I will continue my studies. Because I know education is very important. Sasa: Very important. The area was known to have a wolf, infamous for raiding the flock and making away with a couple of sheep. Every villager knew of the menace and was always ready to come to the aid of anyone who had a problem with the wolf. But the boy overlooked the helpful nature of the villagers, and ridiculed them. For his amusement, he brought out the villagers, three times,by crying out for help, saying “Wolf!
