Ep16 Empowered Together show: Meet the creator of Divine Design, Paula Petry, PhD
Hello friends! Welcome to this month’s episode of the Empowered Together podcast and video show on Inkandescent Women magazine — as well as InkandescentRadio.com and Inkandescent.tv Today, we are thrilled to talk with one of our new members: Paula Petry, PhD, founder of Divine Design Activation — Where Science Meets Your Soul’s Intelligence. Before we jump into our Q&A, here’s a little about this truly amazing woman. Paula says, “Divine Design Activation is a grounded, experiential pathway that restores embodied clarity, self-trust, and purposeful leadership by reconnecting you with your body’s innate guidance system and your soul’s original design. Until we retrieve the buried content, we cannot improve our lives.” Be sure to listen to and watch our interview where we talk with Kylene about: Let’s start at the beginning. What inspired you to create Divine Design? How has your organization grown? Who are your clients? You say we are not troubled by what we are aware of, and that unconscious perception of what we’ve done and what has been done to us is relentless. Tell us more! You just finished a powerful retreat and are embarking on more. Give us details. Horses are a part of your work. They are incredibly powerful, intuitive creatures. How do you incorporate equine healing into your work? One thing that I have heard you say centers on the importance of safety and the fact that we recognize that we are all mirrors for each other. How do your workshops help with that? How can people sign up for your events and learn more about your services? Don’t miss it! Join us on July 14 at 7pm ET, when we’ll be hosting a webinar featuring Paula, where she will share her insights and wisdom — and you can join us to ask questions! Register for your free ticket at PaulaPetry.Eventbrite.com Join Paula September 24–28, 2026 for her next retreat: Quantum Flow & Inner Coherence, A Private Women’s Retreat, Tenuta di Paternostro, Italy — PaulaPetry.com/italy (By Application / Expression of Interest) Learn more about the Empowered Together Network on Inkandescent Women magazine. Learn the essentials of “Unboxing Your Future Self,” with gamification expert Valary Oleinik
“In times of great uncertainty, it can become even more difficult to envision and plan for the future we want,” insists gamification expert Valary Oleinik. “However, using a process from The BOX Experience methodology, you are invited to join a discussion that will help you unbox your future self.” We welcome Valary as the star of our June 2026 Empowered Together webinar: We will make the invisible visible by mapping our inner thinking to our outward behavior and turning the impossible into actionable steps. Past participants have called this reflective journey “a spa treatment for your brain.” Countless others have returned time and again to the practice to explore pathways, ground their ideas, and commit to taking action that moves them toward their own success image. If you missed it, you still can participate: All you need is one blank piece of paper and something to write with. Using those simple tools, you will create a physical artifact that reminds you of your experience and the commitments you choose to make to yourself. I hope you will join this low-stress experience to hear yourself think, reflect, and unbox a gift for your future self. About Valary Oleinik: Half geek and half artist and 100% committed to helping people deliver more engaging and effective experiences in business and educational spaces, Valary has decades of experience in project management, workplace training, and higher ed professional development, combined with her innovative approach as a speaker and consultant on gamification and creative problem-solving, have earned her the titles of “maven of new thinking” and the “MacGyver of training.” Valary is the Owner and Chief Disruptor of DandeLearn LLC, where she offers one-on-one coaching, workshops, and keynotes. She is the Past President of USDLA (United States Distance Learning Association), and a certified facilitator of The BOX Experience, a proven methodology for those times when thinking out of the box is not enough. Throughout her endeavors, she is assisted by her cat and bunny, who are lousy typists but great at shredding papers. Let’s play a game with Val: QUAD(GROUP)LE CARDS By Valary Oleinik Have you noticed what usually happens when you ask people to pair up or break into groups during a workshop or class? People tend to work with the person(s) right next to them. And in many cases, there is a good chance this is someone they already know. While there may be advantages to having people who know one another work together, you often want people to mix and mingle. How many lost opportunities have there been for people to exchange ideas with new and different people because they didn’t happen to sit next to one another? As an introvert, I know that it can be a little stressful for people to participate in activities with strangers. It can be awkward. And it can use up precious learning time getting people to figure out how to break into groups. It may not be the biggest challenge you will face when teaching people, but it is something we can handle more efficiently and creatively. That’s where the Quad(Group)le Cards come into play. I wanted to find a quick, easy way to help people feel more confident and comfortable joining groups with strangers. Now it is your turn to get people interacting in a fun way during your next learning experience or group activity. Whether you want people to work in pairs, in groups of 3-5, divided into larger groups at random, or any other configuration you can think of, these cards can help. Each deck of cards comes with facilitation ideas and 60 participant cards. For groups larger than that, you can use additional decks of the color scheme of your choice or mix and match colored decks to provide even more ways to help people mix and mingle. Go explore, play, have fun, and get your learners mixed up in the best possible ways. And stay in touch. Share your stories and pictures we me and

We are Empowered Together: Mark your calendar for May 30 — 10th Annual Southern Delaware Wine, Food & Musical Festival Promises Unforgettable Fun, Flavor, and Philanthropy in Grand Finale Celebration
Coming to Rehoboth Beach, DE on May 30: In just a few weeks, we hope that you will be clinking glasses with us in Rehoboth Beach, DE to celebrate the beloved Southern Delaware Wine Food & Musical Festival (aka: SoDel Fest) from noon to 4 pm at this year’s location: The Cambria Hotel. Festival founder Stacy LaMotta (pictured right) says she is pulling out all the stops for this milestone — not only is this the 10th event, but it will also be its final year. “There is no doubt this will be an exhilarating afternoon packed with indulgence, entertainment, and heartfelt community spirit,” Stacy insists. Here’s what is on tap for the festivities: Unlimited tastings from 20+ of the area’s best restaurants showcasing coastal Delaware’s vibrant culinary scene More than 100 selections of world-class wines, craft beers, creative cocktails, and refreshing mocktails A Silent Auction featuring dozens of goodies and experiences Nonstop live music from local favorites Surprise guest artists will keep the party atmosphere alive all afternoon The action-packed Chef Throwdown will also be a crowd-pleaser. “This is a high-energy Chopped-style competition where top chefs face off with mystery ingredients,” Stacey explains. “And that is just one of the activities that is ripe for photo ops. There are fun surprises around every corner all day long.” But SoDel Fest is about more than just fun, Stacy explains. It’s about giving back. “Since its inception, the festival has raised over $ 300,000 for local nonprofits supporting causes such as children’s health, hunger relief, and arts education,” she says. “Every ticket purchased helps make a difference right here in our community.” In 2026, festival proceeds will benefit Celebrate Wellness, a non-profit focused on supporting the mental wellness of hospitality workers. They provide education, connect individuals to resources and wellness experts, and offer financial assistance for mental health support. In the hospitality industry, well-being often takes a backseat to job demands. Long hours and job pressure can make it difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Surveys reveal that financial constraints are a significant barrier to seeking therapy. Learn more: celebrate-wellness.org “As the festival celebrates its tenth anniversary and grand finale, we invite foodies, music lovers, and philanthropists alike to come together for one last extraordinary experience,” Stacy shares. “Whether you’re sampling gourmet bites, dancing to the music, or bidding in the charity auction, you’ll be part of a legacy of joy and generosity that has defined Southern DE Wine Food and Music Fest for a decade.” Tickets are on sale now at special Early Bird prices at sodelfest.com. Good Grief: This month we get mindful about ways to cope with loss, love, and letting go
We are Empowered Together, April 2026 — Love stories are always profoundly moving because they remind us of what (I believe) is most important in life — two souls finding each other and holding hands through thick and thin, until death do they part. Below, you’ll find such a magical story from our dear Inkandescent friend and partner Cynthia de Lorenzi, an artist, activist, entrepreneur, and founder of the international women’s group Success in the City: Cynthia.art. What always amazes me about this truly amazing woman is her effervescence, humor, and the joy she brings to everyone she meets. Of course, we wouldn’t imagine this powerhouse with anyone but a truly amazing man. Larry Nelson was that gentleman. He bought elegant clothes for Cynthia to wear to events with legislators and her posse, cared for her children as if he were their father, made all of her girlfriends feel beautiful and special (he bought me a necklace that said Hopejust because he saw it in a shop and thought I’d like it; Cynthia has one, too!). His battle with cancer was long and painful, and Cynthia never left his side. She remained hopeful and vigilant to the end, which sadly was last Sunday. The details of death are never as important as the legacy left behind. With Cynthia, Larry will live on. And the thousands of people who love them both will be here to support her and cherish his memory. Scroll down to read Cynthia’s tribute to Larry on Facebook. Grab a tissue. Stacy LaMotta, founder, Southern Delaware Wine Festival And don’t miss our monthly Empowered Together webinar where our members open their hearts, minds, and lives to discuss a topic that touches them deeply. This month’s courageous conversation is no exception. Up next: We look forward to having you join us on May 7. Our dear friend Stacy LaMotta shares her journey as the founder of the Southern Delaware Wine Festival — and how she has kept the organization going as she copes with a life-threatening illness. Reserve your free spot on Eventbrite. Learn more about Stacy here. Cynthia and Larry in New Mexico Cynthia + Larry: A Love Story October 17, 2025: Cynthia writes on Facebook — It is with a broken heart that I share the passing of my beloved husband, Larry Nelson. Our love language was humor! It wasn’t his good looks, success, and sports cars that attracted me to him. It was his beautiful, gracious soul, a twinkle in his eyes to match one of the best senses of humor of anyone I’ve ever known. He was my George Burns, and I was his Gracie — our laughter was the soundtrack of our life together. He loved me, our children, and our granddaughter fiercely and unconditionally. He was generous, loyal, and blessed with a wit quicker than someone could draw a gun in a Western. He loved his friends dearly, but he had a special fondness for all my girlfriends — not in a salacious way, but in the way that only a man truly confident in himself can be. He was endlessly delighted, amused, and inspired by the brilliance, sass, and sparkle of the incredible women in our lives. Larry’s father passed away in a fire when Larry was just 18 months old. I’ve always believed much of his humor, resilience, and charm came from his mother, who raised her children with grit, love, and a hearty dose of folksy humor. She taught him to face life with a joke, a wink, and an open heart — lessons he carried through every day of his life. Before moving into technology, Larry had a long career as a stockbroker and Vice President at Prudential Securities. Later, he reinvented himself and found his calling helping businesses with their computer networks. He was as clever with circuits and servers as he was with punchlines. He told the best “dad jokes” — though our granddaughter Isabel often reminded me, “Poppi is way funnier than you, Didi,” and she’s absolutely right. Larry was the love of my life — my partner in laughter, mischief, travel, and everything in between. The wor

February 2025 — This month on the Empowered Together show: LifeChef Alina helps us embody our archetypes
Alina says: The world is shifting in ways many astrologers have long predicted—an era of transformation, upheaval, and rebirth. The old structures are crumbling, exposing deep-seated wounds in our society and forcing us to confront the shadows we’ve ignored for too long. We are in the darkness before the dawn, the chaotic in-between where fear and uncertainty thrive. But this is not the end—this is the threshold of a new way of being. It is okay to feel scared, but we must not be still. Fear can paralyze or fuel action; the choice is ours. In times of great change, we must turn inward to care for ourselves: Nourishment—of the body, mind, and soul—is our foundation. Eat whole, vibrant foods that make you feel alive. Move your body in ways that remind you of its strength and joy. Surround yourself with people who uplift you and seek knowledge that expands you. Embodying your archetype and lean into what gives you strength. Which archetype are you? More than ever, this is a time to embody your true nature—to step into your archetype with intention. The world is not changed by waiting—it is changed by those who step forward, despite their fear, and claim their place in the new world. Find yourself: Warrior: Stand up for justice Lover: Heal through connection Creator: Shape the world through innovation Sage: Seek wisdom and share it Rebel: Challenge the systems that no longer serve us Healer: Extend your energy where it is needed most. This is your invitation: To nourish yourself. To know yourself. To move forward, even in uncertainty. The tides are shifting, and you are part of what comes next. Step into who you are meant to be. The world needs you now. In our February 2025 interview, we ask Alina: Why is this big change happening? What can we do? Tell us about the archetypes and how we can find our own. You are an award-winning LifeChef and author. How can we use food to protect our health, save money, and avoid supply chain problems? What foods do you recommend? What ways of cooking? How do you get your strength and energy when you feel drained? How can we all use our strength, and our archetypes, not just to survive during this time — but thrive? Bonus: Alina will share an exercise she created so you can find your archetype on your own. She’s also available for personal sessions. Watch our video interview here! Coming this year, you’ll have the opportunity to explore coaching sessions with Eva Ross: “My goal is to increase awareness of participants by having them leave with a sense of agency and also strategies they might consider using to address their challenges now and in the future. And we certainly have those!” Classes include: A discussion of Viktor Frankl’s 1946 book, Man’s in Search of Meaning, which chronicles his experiences as a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps during World War II. He goes on to describe his psychotherapeutic method, which involved identifying a purpose to each person’s life through one of three ways: the completion of tasks, caring for another person, or finding meaning by facing suffering with dignity. In this workshop: Eva will share quotes and insights from the book as prompts for discussion to increase awareness and inspire introspection. Living Room Conversations: In the tradition of gathering in parlors to talk (parlor or parlour comes from the French and means a “place for speaking”), these onversations bring people together to generate understanding and connection. In this workshop: With the goal of reducing anxiety after the election, we dive into thoughts on how we can move forward, avoid polarization, build a climate of peace and understanding in ourselves and our communities. Overcoming the Barriers Toward More Meaningful Connections:“The truth is that we routinely encounter barriers that block our efforts to make and strengthen meaningful relationships,” explains the author of Our New Social Life: Science-Backed Strategies for Creating Meaningful Connection. “Some of these barriers are byproducts of our psychological makeup, while others are the result of unseen social forces. As a result, the path to connection is not always easy to navigate.” In this workshop: Eva will explore the book’s seven key barriers to social connection and offer evidence-based strategies for overcoming them. By addressing these obstacles, connections can happen more easily. In our March interview, we ask Eva: Tell us about your background and what made you decide to be a coach? You say that your goal is to help your clients become their own life coach. How do you accomplish that? Your work as in the field of positive psychology guides your practice. How can we all access the big ideas researched in this community, including Viktor Frankl’s Man’s in Search of Meaning?
