About EmpoweredByPrecious

“Due to the lack of representation and empowerment I had growing up, I made it my mission to become what I didn’t have—for the kids I taught, for my community, and for anyone who looks like me. EmpoweredByPrecious was born out of that journey. The heart behind the name is simple: ‘If nobody else empowered you, I will—so be Empowered by Precious.’ This space is for healing, honesty, and hope. We’re tackling the unspoken truths that most people are too afraid to bring up—mental health, breaking generational cycles, therapy, self-worth, faith, and building healthy relationships with God and ours

Hurt People Hurt People: Healing Trauma, Breaking Cycles & Trusting God

We’ve all heard the saying “hurt people hurt people”… but what happens when somebody else’s unresolved pain crosses into YOUR lane? This week, something happened to me that completely changed the way I hear that phrase—and what started as a completely normal night became one of the most terrifying, spiritually revealing experiences of my life. There were moments that made me question how much God knows before we ever know what’s coming, moments that showed me just how quickly the flesh and the Spirit can start fighting 😭, and one realization afterward that STILL has me sitting here like… God. 😐 In this episode, we’re talking about hurt, healing, bitterness, forgiveness, breaking cycles, obedience to God, and the responsibility we have to make sure the people who love us don’t become casualties of wounds they never created. And if you’ve ever been hurt by somebody who was hurting themselves—or wondered whether your own unresolved pain has started spilling into somebody else’s life—this one might make you look at yourself a little differently. Because hurt people hurt people…but somebody has to decide where the hurt stops.

The Chicken Gospel-Don't Miss the Meat!

What if we’ve been focusing on the wrong part of the gospel this whole time? In this episode of Empowered by Precious, we’re breaking down a powerful and relatable truth: don’t get so caught up in the details of Jesus’ suffering that you miss the purpose of His sacrifice. Using a real-life, down-to-earth analogy (yes… chicken 🍗), this episode challenges believers and seekers alike to stop debating the “seasoning” and start receiving the meat of the message — that Jesus died, rose again, and still saves today. We’re diving into: •    Why people obsess over crucifixion details instead of resurrection power •    The difference between spiritual “meat” vs. “milk” in Christianity •    How to recognize false teachings and distorted gospel messages •    Why knowing the Word for yourself is critical in today’s culture •    How to stop comparing your faith journey to others and grow at your own pace This episode is for anyone who’s: •    Tired of overcomplicated church talk •    Confused by conflicting teachings online •    Ready for a real, practical understanding of the gospel •    Seeking a deeper relationship with God without the extra fluff Because at the end of the day… the gospel isn’t complicated. Jesus died. Jesus rose. Jesus saves. That’s the meat. 🎧 Tap in and get fed — not entertained.

When Stress Lives in the Body: Faith, Burnout, and Learning to Be Gentle

In this episode of Empowered by Precious, we talk about something many of us experience but rarely name — what prolonged stress actually does to the body. From unexplained weight loss, low appetite, disrupted sleep, mental fog, and lack of motivation, to digestive issues and emotional exhaustion, this conversation breaks down how survival mode shows up physically. We explore the difference between burnout and post-burnout, why “pushing through” isn’t always strength, and how the body responds when pressure lasts longer than it was meant to. Because during Black History Month, resilience is often celebrated — but the cost of survival isn’t always discussed. This episode gently reframes that conversation, blending real-life anatomy, emotional awareness, and faith without glamorizing struggle. We also talk about the spiritual side of pressure — the idea of oil coming from pressing — and why being in an ordained process doesn’t mean it’s painless. Gentleness, rest, and care aren’t signs of weakness; sometimes they’re wisdom. This episode is for anyone who feels tired in a way sleep doesn’t fix, who’s been blaming themselves for stress responses, or who needs permission to listen to their body without guilt. Spiritual Warfare on My Street: The Prayer That Stopped an Attack Instantly

n this episode of Empowered by Precious, I share a powerful story of what happened when paramedics pulled up to my neighbor’s house—again. After praying for him from my window, I faced my own sudden chest-pounding attack just an hour later. But the moment I called on Jesus’ name, it stopped instantly. This wasn’t just about me—it was a wake-up call about spiritual warfare happening over my whole neighborhood. In this raw and real conversation, I break down: How prayer can stir spiritual pushback AND victory Why discernment matters when you face sudden attacks The power of obedience, even in small moments How your prayers may be covering more than just yourself I also connect this to why I started Aveary Assurance—because just like God covers us spiritually, we’ve got to cover our families practically. God Ain’t Just Talkin to Women: Discernment, Manhood & Quiet Battles

Let’s talk real. Somewhere along the way, culture got real comfortable acting like men don’t hear from God. Like discernment is a women-only thing and if a man says he “felt led” or “God told him,” he’s either overthinking it or doing too much. Meanwhile, he’s carrying silent battles, unanswered questions, and still trying to lead through the noise. This episode is for the ones who don’t get the spotlight but still stay obedient. For the men who feel something deeper but never had the space to say it out loud. We’re unpacking what spiritual discernment really looks like for men, why emotional intelligence isn’t weakness, and how to trust what God is showing you—even when nobody else sees it. Because truth is… God ain’t just talking to women. He’s been talking to you, too. 💼 Learn more about life & health insurance at Aveary Assurance: https://avearyassurance.carrd.co/

Fine, I’ll Do It: Fasting, Obedience & Holy Hood Reality

Let’s be honest… sometimes obedience feels less like “Yes, Lord” and more like “Fine, I’ll do it 🙄.” This episode is for anybody who has ever followed God with a side-eye and a sigh. We’re diving into the raw truth about fasting, surrender, and the internal tug-of-war that comes with doing what you know God told you to do — even when you didn’t want to. From accidental naps on fast days to spiritual side-eyes and praise breaks in the middle of warfare, I’m breaking it all down in the most real way possible. This ain’t your polished Sunday sermon. This is that real-life faith walk — tired, hungry, moody… but obedient anyway. We’re talking: What obedience really looks like when you don’t feel holy Why fasting ain’t cute, but it’s powerful The difference between just being disciplined vs. being surrendered Why your “Yes” still counts, even if it had an attitude Biblical stories that prove God uses the reluctantly obedient too And somewhere in here, I talk about flipping tables vs. doing dance breaks in the bathroom. Because… balance. 😂 If you’ve ever wondered if God can still honor your obedience when your attitude isn’t perfect — this episode is your confirmation that He absolutely can. And will. 📌 Need life or health insurance and want to be served with realness, transparency, and no pressure?
