Auf dem Weg zur grünen Industrie: Wasserstoff an Rhein und Ruhr – wo stehen wir aktuell und wie geht es weiter?
Eigentlich haben das Ruhrgebiet und das Rheinland beste Voraussetzungen für eine florierende Wasserstoff-Wirtschaft: Viel Industrie, die klimafreundlicher werden muss, Pipelines und Wasserwege für den Transport, Pläne für Wasserstoff-Produktionen, engagierte Unternehmen und Forschungsinstitute… Doch nach der anfänglichen Aufbruchstimmung hat sich eine gewisse Ernüchterung breit gemacht, weil es doch nicht so schnell geht, wie gedacht. Gleichzeitig hält man an dem Ziel fest, zukünftig Wasserstoff für eine klimaneutrale Produktion einzusetzen und erste Projekte laufen jetzt tatsächlich an. Mit TÜV NORD Energie-Experte Silvio Konrad sortieren wir die Lage: Wo stehen wir und wie geht es weiter? Wer braucht hier Wasserstoff? Vor welchen Herausforderungen stehen Unternehmen, die ihre Produktion dekarbonisieren wollen? Welche Transportwege gibt es schon? Und was muss politisch passieren? Nach dem Fokus auf diese für die Transformation so wichtige Industrieregion gehen wir am Ende nochmal in die globale Perspektive: Australien will künftig grünen und blauen Wasserstoff in die EU liefern. Vor Ort konnte Silvio Konrad gerade Erfahrungen aus erster Hand sammeln, welche Rolle Australien spielen wird, wie weit die Pläne schon gediehen sind und wie der Transport umweltfreundlich gestaltet werden könnte.
