But we've found that Career is also a lot of the little stuff too (dealing with a crappy manager, lots of org changes, working with difficult co-workers, etc). The equation isn't simply Career = Change. Rather, it's Career = Change + Everyday Experiences.
And this is where a lot of tech organizations and tech managers fall short. They aren't prepared to help tech professionals through these (everyday) experiences, which all contribute (greatly!!) to Career.

Special Edition: 3-Minute Market Update - July '22 Numbers + Tech Impact
The July 2022 unemployment numbers were released this morning, and the numbers blew away all expectations. Analysts were predicting just 25,000 additional jobs created during the month. The reality? Over 525,000+ jobs were added to payroll in July. I'd call that a big win!
Now how these numbers affect the biggest economic question right now ("Are we or are we not in a recession??") is yet to be seen. But this is a great sign that one important ingredient (unemployment) is moving in the right direction (and at 50 year lows!).

It's something we hear from our tech clients all the time. Especially over the past 2+ years, professionals are constantly looking for ways to feel more in-control of their experience. The issue? Most folks go BIG when creating strategies to create more WLB. Stuff like "exercising more" or "no phone after 7pm" or "Email doesn't exist on the weekend!" And, with most things, it's good for a couple weeks and then ... well, let's just say our behavior mirrors New Years Resolutions...
