The Elevator Pitch

As EFL learners, we constantly find ourselves on the lookout for new strategies to develop our speaking skills. We can look at this process from different perspectives, and undoubtedly there are different areas of improvement when it comes to speaking a foreign language. However, if we know exactly the stage of the process in which we find ourselves at this very moment, we will have a better view on the needs that we should satisfy to increase our linguistic abilities. In this episode I talk about why I find the elevator speech detrimental for most learners in search of improving their speaking skills.

Leo Bado is an EFL learner, so he can perfectly understand the nuances and contours revolving around this adventure. Moreover, he became a learner as an adult and knows perfectly the attitudinal barriers underlying the journey of acquiring a new language. Ultimately, Leo always says that a final experience is required to master the language, the insightful experience that English, such as personal development, is always in the making.

Credits:

Voice Over Intro

Yuliana Rojas Ramírez

Art Cover

Image drawing-1991304_960_720 under Pixabay License.

Intro Music

Song : Shards [Intro Version]

Music provided and produced by LonePeakMusic

from Intro Versions [Free To Use], released March 7, 2021

Produced & Composed by Guillaume Brouhon

Outro Music

“New Day” by “Twisterium” VItalii Iegorov under Pixabay License.

The Three Activities I Love the Most

Have you considered to be surrounded by English? EFL learners believe that they must travel to an English-speaking country to improve their communicative skills. That is great, but unrealistic for some people. Some people can do it; some other people just can’t for whatever reason, but there are specific actions you can carry out today to be surrounded by English without traveling abroad, changing your routine, or even dropping the things you love to do the most. This is a total no brainer, but many learners fail at recognizing what they could do to boost their linguistic abilities.

Leo Bado is an EFL learner, so he can perfectly understand the nuances and contours revolving around this adventure. Loving the Idea of Learning English More than Learning English Itself

Do you love the idea of learning English more than learning English itself?

In this episode I talk about the Dunning-Kruger effect, and two important questions arise along the way. Due to the implications of this questions, this is no trivial matter at all for EFL learners. In fact, if we are not aware of such implications at every step of our adventure, we can easily and implicitly chook up the sponge and stop pushing ourselves into getting better.

Leo Bado is an EFL learner, so he can perfectly understand the nuances and contours revolving around this adventure.
