IFS Secrets Every Psilocybin Facilitator Needs

Most people hear "IFS" and think parts work. Dr. Nancy Morgan says that's one piece of a much larger model, and the piece facilitators tend to miss is the one that matters most in the medicine space.

Dr. Nancy is a licensed clinical psychologist, certified IFS therapist, and guest instructor in our facilitator training, where she teaches facilitators to map their own parts so they can sit with clients from a more grounded place.

In this conversation she walks through how parts mapping works inside a preparation session: what a hopeful part wants from the medicine, what happens if it doesn't get it, and what fears sit underneath. Skip that inquiry and those parts still show up, often mid-session, where a protective part losing control of the environment can turn into an adverse experience.

She also explains Self-energy, what Michael Mithoefer calls the inner healing intelligence, and shares her own psilocybin journey following a cancer diagnosis. She closes with advice for people stepping into this work, including why she believes facilitators should never practice as an island.

Dr. Nancy Morgan is licensed in Oregon and Colorado and teaches in the Entheogen Institute facilitator training program. Sometimes Psilocybin Facilitator Training Is a Calling

Not every student enrolls in psilocybin facilitator training with a clear career plan. Some simply know it is the next right step, even before they can see where the path leads.

Coeli Dwivedi sits down with Entheogen Institute graduate Amy Speek, an ER nurse with a master's in counseling who spent 20 years in therapy before a single psilocybin journey changed the trajectory of her life. That experience gave her the courage to open her own practice, enroll in facilitator training, and set out on a lifelong dream: thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.

Amy shares what it felt like to be called to this work before she knew where it would lead, the friendships from her cohort that carried her far beyond graduation, and what happened at mile 801.9 of the PCT that put everything she had learned about trusting the unknown to the test.

Learn more about The Entheogen Institute's 150-hour psilocybin facilitator training: https://learn.entheogentraining.com/learn-more

Follow Amy's journey on YouTube: https://youtube.com/@speekingofadventure

Why Only 40% of Our Grads Get Licensed (The Truth)

Coeli went back and read all 103 student applications we've ever received, looking for one thing: why do people really come to facilitator training? What she found was six distinct pathways. Some students arrive with a clear calling to licensed practice. Some are therapists and nurses who keep meeting clients this work could serve. And some just know, deep in their bones, that this is the next step, even before they can explain it.

Wherever you are on that spectrum, we made this video for you.
