Working for free in the early stage of your business is common, but shouldn't be. Many service businesses offer free consultations and are essentially working for clients and giving away strategic ideas at no cost in the hopes of building their businesses. It doesn't have to be this way.
On this episode, I share personal stories of how I handled the free consultation early in my business and offer helpful, useful advice to advance your business.

You have not because you ask not.
Is getting what you want really as simple as asking for what you want? I think so; but only if there's clarity. When you give serious consideration to something, you think it through and become specific in your ask. You then become focused and every action step you take towards that goal gets you closer to achieving it. This applies to both your personal and business lives.
Check out this episode and learn how Steve Harvey has motivated many to list their asks, with the intent of elevating their lives.

Multi-level Marketing (MLM): The controversial and polarizing business model that appeals to many.
The multi-level marketing business model is popular, yet controversial. In many cases, it is preferred to a traditional business. People choose MLMs as a business because of the support they receive in the form of marketing and business development training. MLMs provide a formula to follow to increase the rate of success. However, there are many people who are not in favor of this model. They don't view it as a "real business".
In this episode, I explore the reasons why it is so appealing. I also interview Jenna Abbott, a powerhouse in Sacramento, CA who runs a successful environmental consulting business, is a short-term rental hostess of an Airbnb know as The Green Door Guest House, and is a Rodan + Fields Independent Consultant. She loves every aspect of how she has designed her business life. But, this interview will focus on her R+F business. Listen in as Jenna shares how she got her start, and why she added R+F to her portfolio of businesses.
If you've conducted your research and decided that an MLM business model is not right for you, but a traditional business is, know that you are not alone. I've established Ask-an-MBA (www.ask-an-mba.com) for entrepreneurs who want access to Marketing, Branding and digital Advertising expertise at the time it's needed.
