Episode 1 is officially live and we’re kicking things off by introducing ourselves—Kaila, Mickelle, and Regina—and what this chaotic, honest, ever-evolving space is all about.
Motherhood? Yes.
Friendships? Always.
Life, books, random spirals, real conversations? Absolutely.
This podcast will grow as we grow—because let’s be real, life doesn’t stay the same… and neither will we.
🎙️ EPISODE 7 | PART 1: OUR BIRTH STORIES 🤍
Mickelle’s Birth Story to Dom 👶🏽
We’ve been saying our birth stories were coming… and we FINALLY made it here. 🥹 Welcome to Part 1 of our Birth Stories Series!
We’re starting with Mickelle, as she shares her birth story with Dom—from pregnancy and delivery to an unexpected C-section and everything that came afterward.
But her story doesn’t end when Dom was born. Mickelle also opens up about the ups and downs of postpartum and what it was like navigating so much of that season alone. The emotions, the recovery, becoming a mom, and figuring out this completely new version of life while caring for a newborn.
One of the reasons we wanted to share all three of our stories is because no two birth stories—or postpartum journeys—look the same. Mickelle’s C-section experience is different from both Kaila’s and Regina’s birth stories, and we wanted each of us to have the space to tell our own experience.
There are hard moments, beautiful moments, laughs, side conversations, and of course the three of us being us. 😂🤍
This is Mickelle’s story. This is Dom’s birth story. And this is only Part 1. 🥹

Episode 4: A Conversation We Felt We Needed To Have
🎙️ New Episode: A Conversation We Felt We Needed to Have
We originally planned to begin sharing our birth stories in this episode. But after everything surrounding the Nolan Wells case, it didn’t feel right to move forward without first acknowledging it.
As moms raising Black and biracial children, this conversation hit close to home. We felt a responsibility to pause and speak from our hearts about justice, accountability, and the hope that history doesn’t continue to repeat itself.
This episode isn’t about clout or chasing headlines. It’s about having honest conversations that matter, even when they’re difficult. We believe these conversations shouldn’t fade away once the news cycle moves on.
We hope you’ll listen with an open heart, reflect alongside us, and continue to keep Nolan and his loved ones in your thoughts.
Our birth story series will begin next episode. ❤️

🎙️ Episode 3: Life Be Hitting Us Hard Lately + Summer Jitters
Summer is here… and with it comes the chaos of no routines, late nights, shifting schedules, and trying to figure out how to keep everyone afloat.
In this episode of Barely Holding It Together, we’re talking about what life looks like when routines disappear — and why sometimes routines are exactly what keep us grounded. From the stay-at-home moms, to the working moms, to the single moms, and all the moms in between… we’re unpacking the mental load, the pressure, and the reality of navigating summer while life keeps hitting hard.
Because whether you’re doing it solo, balancing work, or just trying to survive the day — this season can feel like a lot. And you’re not alone in it. 🤍
Come hang out with us as we talk through the messy, the real, and everything in between.
In this episode of Barely Holding It Together, we’re diving into the realities of Mother’s Day and the beautiful, messy journey of gentle parenting. From the pressure of creating the “perfect” holiday to navigating mom guilt, overstimulation, boundaries, and breaking generational cycles—we’re talking about it all. We share personal experiences, the hard moments no one posts online, and the ways we’re learning to parent with more patience, intention, and grace (even when we’re barely holding it together). Whether Mother’s Day brings joy, grief, exhaustion, or a mix of everything in between, this conversation is for you. 🤍
