The 'Fruit' Of Love (Pt.1) | Holy Spirit & His Gifts 16
At the centre of Paul’s teaching is the Fruit of the Spirit. When we choose to live in the Spirit and walk in the Spirit, His character begins to be expressed through our lives, and we become more responsive to His leading and the gifts He chooses to manifest.
Paul contrasts this with the works of the flesh—the sinful attitudes, behaviours, and desires that come from allowing the flesh to control us. The contrast is significant: there are many “works” of the flesh, but one “Fruit” of the Spirit, expressed through love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
The fruit is already present in every believer through the Holy Spirit. The question is whether we will allow it to be seen. The Spirit does not force us; we must choose to cooperate with Him by living and walking in the Spirit.
