For the hours that don’t announce themselves.
—
“Unmarked Hours” observes the bodily distinctions within ordinary experience: continuing and participating, capability and availability, effort and strain.
—
Across work, relationships, pleasure, seasons, and time, each episode begins with a concrete moment and stays close to what it reveals.
—
The emphasis is observation rather than advice. Some questions remain open.
During breakfast near the beach, a cappuccino arrives with a delicate pattern in the milk. The first sip waits while several photographs are taken.
A photograph may sharpen a moment or interrupt the enjoyment, sometimes within the same few seconds. This episode follows what happens when pleasure starts being arranged, checked, and saved for later.
What makes a moment feel like it is really yours—living it, keeping proof of it, or being able to hand it to someone who wasn’t there?

The Meeting That Didn’t Happen
The night before meeting an old friend after years apart, I lie awake with a fast heartbeat.
At 4:20, I am rehearsing the hug, the conversation, and the distance we may hear between us.
Hours before the meeting, she cancels. Relief arrives before I know what to make of it, though I had wanted to see her and had already chosen a pair of sky-blue earrings for her.
The episode examines the difference between relief that uncertainty has ended and preference for the outcome. When a bodily response is immediate, how much can it tell us about what we wanted from the friendship?

Still Eating Like August
Back home after the holiday, a smaller bowl of ice cream sits on the kitchen counter. The serving has changed, but attention keeps returning to the container in the freezer.
The portion has returned to routine; the wanting has not. Ice cream now carries taste, enoughness, long meals, old friends, and evenings that continued after the pizza boxes were empty.
"Still Eating Like August" examines the gap between changing a behavior and changing an appetite. It asks why a desire formed through planning can seem more trustworthy than one shaped by pleasure, company, and a particular time.
