Por un lado nos deja ver la dulzura de la infancia, pero también la rudeza de la guerra. ¿Cómo conviven la fuerza con la destrucción? ¿Cómo sobrellevar la madurez y la soledad?

La animación oriental, la trama y la ausencia de una visión moralista hacen de esta película una verdadera joya cinematográfica.
