Folge 7: Der erfundene Mord
Der Historiker Ulrich van der Heyden ist fassungslos über den MDR: Dass der öffentlich-rechtliche Sender Manuel Diogos Tod ohne Beweise als rassistischen Mord verkauft, erinnert ihn an Medienskandale wie den Fall Relotius beim Spiegel. Auch als die Staatsanwaltschaft Potsdam schließlich bestätigt, dass es keine Hinweise auf Mord oder Manipulationen gibt, bleibt der MDR bei seiner Version. Und beruft sich auf ein Interview mit einem ehemaligen Botschafter, der offenbar über einen ganz anderen Fall redet und inzwischen spurlos verschwunden ist.

Folge 8: Wie der MDR den Spieß umdreht
Nachdem die Staatsanwaltschaft Potsdam bestätigt, dass Manuel Diogo nicht ermordet und die Ermittlungen 1986 nicht manipuliert wurden, gehen wir davon aus, dass der MDR seine Berichte korrigiert. Aber er bleibt bei der Mordtheorie, zitiert ein Interview mit einem mosambikanischen Diplomaten falsch, zweifelt die Arbeit der Staatsanwaltschaft an und droht uns mit juristischen Schritten. Dann taucht Maren Müller auf, eine Frau, die die Öffentlich-Rechtlichen schon öfters in Verlegenheit gebracht hat.
