Every day we are confronted with choices. Some are relatively insignificant, while others have the potential to shape the direction of our lives. But there is one decision that is more important than all the others. It is the decision about what kind of life we are going to live and whose voice we are going to follow. Will we listen to the wisdom of God, or will we follow the foolishness of this world?
The challenge is that the difference between wisdom and foolishness is not always immediately obvious. Foolishness can look appealing. It can promise freedom, satisfaction, and pleasure, while wisdom may seem demanding, restrictive, or even unattractive. Yet appearances can be deceiving. What seems right in the moment may ultimately lead us in the wrong direction. And what may seem difficult today can lead us toward a life that is pleasing to God.
This is why the choices we make about wisdom are so important. God has not left us to figure out life on our own. He has revealed His wisdom to us, ultimately and perfectly, in the person of Jesus Christ, who is the true Wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24, 30). As we come to Proverbs 9, we are reminded that life presents us with a choice, and that choice has eternal consequences. It's decision time!

The Word of God - September 27 2026
When we open the Bible, who is speaking to us? This message challenges the idea that Scripture is outdated or merely a book to analyze, and shows from Hebrews 4:12 and Isaiah 55:10-11 that the Word of God is living, active, and always accomplishes what God sends it to do. From creation to the calming of the storm, the healing of the paralytic, and the raising of Lazarus, we see that when God speaks, it happens.
John 1 reveals that Jesus Himself is the Word made flesh, the One who created and sustains all things. That means the Word still works today, creating faith, giving new life, and guiding believers through every season. We are invited to trust God's Word rather than stand in judgment over it, to hold fast against teaching that contradicts it, and to rest in the sure hope that what Jesus promises always comes to pass.

Proverbs: The Way of Wisdom: Faithfulness that Leads to Peace - September 20 2026
What does it really mean to live wisely? Most of us would probably say that wisdom means knowing the right thing to do. But wisdom is more than knowing. There are times when we know exactly what we should do, yet we still struggle to do it. There are moments when God's way seems clear, but following it requires trust, sacrifice, patience, or even a willingness to admit that our own understanding may be wrong.
And then there is the question of what happens when we actually follow God's way. Does faithfulness to God make life easier? Does trusting Him mean that things will always turn out the way we want? What should we make of the promises in Proverbs that connect obedience to God with blessing, peace, health, and prosperity? And what do we do when life does not seem to match those promises?
Proverbs 3:1-12 takes us into the heart of those questions. It presents wisdom not as a formula for getting the life we want, but as a way of living in relationship with the God who is worthy of our trust. It challenges us to consider what it means to entrust our whole lives to Him, even when we cannot see where His path is leading. Perhaps the real question for us is not simply, “What does God want me to do?” but, “Do I trust God enough to walk His way?”
