Seitdem debütierte er weltweit mit herausragendem Erfolg an den großen Häusern und Festivals wie der Staatsoper Unter den Linden, zu deren Ensemble er seit 2015 zählt, sowie an der Deutschen Oper Berlin, an der Metropolitan Opera in New York, am Teatro alla Scala in Mailand, am Teatro dell’Opera in Rom, an den Staatsopern von Wien, München, Dresden und Hamburg, am Mariinsky-Theater St. Petersburg, bei den BBC Proms, den Bayreuther Festspielen sowie an der Oper Leipzig. Zu den Höhepunkten der letzten Jahre gehören u.&nbsp;a. Max in »Der Freischütz« an der Wiener Staatsoper sowie die Neuinszenierungen von »Fidelio«, »Parsifal« und »Tristan und Isolde« an der Staatsoper Unter den Linden unter Daniel Barenboim.</p>

Zu ihrem breitgefächerten Repertoire gehören u.a. Chrysothemis (»Elektra«), Sieglinde (»Walküre«), Kaiserin (»Die Frau ohne Schatten«), Tatjana (»Eugen Onegin«) sowie Elsa (»Lohengrin«) und Eva (»Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg«). Sie arbeitet gleichermaßen im Opern- und Konzertfach mit Dirigenten wie Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Sir Simon Rattle, Riccardo Muti und Christian Thielemann. Im Rahmen ihres Erfolges als Kaiserin in der Neuproduktion »Die Frau ohne Schatten« an der Wiener Staatsoper im Mai/Juni 2019 wurde Camilla Nylund der Titel der Österreichische Kammersängerin verliehen.</p>

Studium der Theaterwissenschaften an der Freien Universität Berlin. Während des Studiums Regie-Hospitantin an der Deutschen Oper Berlin.</p> <p>1987 Stipendium des Richard-Wagner-Verbandes Berlin mit Aufenthalt in Bayreuth. Gründungsmitglied der Off-Theatergruppe »Comp&amp;Co« (Leitung Peter Lund, u.a. »Fledermaus« im Transformtheater). 1987 bis 1991 Regieassistentin an der Deutschen Oper Berlin, u. a. bei Götz Friedrich, Johannes Schaaf, John Dew, Giancarlo del Monaco, außerdem bei Jürgen Rose und Roman Polanski. 1992-95 Spielleiterin und persönliche Assistentin des Intendanten Giancarlo del Monaco an der Oper Bonn. 1995-96 Oberspielleiterin an der Oper Bonn.</p> <p>1993 Eröffnungsinszenierung des Teatro Coccia in Novara (»Les Huguenots«); weitere Gastinszenierungen von Opern und Operetten am Metropol-Theater Berlin, am Stadttheater Gießen, am Stadttheater St. Gallen, am Theater Lübeck, an der Opéra de Nice, am Theater Klagenfurt, den Opernhäusern von Montpellier und Catania sowie zuletzt bei den Händelfestspielen Halle 2011 mit der Produktion »Ottone, Re di Germania«. Von 2001 bis 2008 Operndirektorin am Stadttheater St. Gallen mit Inszenierungen wie »Le nozze di Figaro«, »Die Entführung aus dem Serail«, »La Cenerentola«, »Tosca«, »Carmen«, »Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor« sowie »Les contes d‘Hoffmann«. An der Musikalischen Komödie Leipzig 2000 »Die Csárdásfürstin«. Seit der Spielzeit 2008 /09 ist Franziska Severin Operndirektorin der Oper Leipzig.</p>
