Der Thurgauer Bio-Winzer ist eine beeindruckende Persönlichkeit. Als Pionier hat er mit seiner Frau Karin bereits vor über 30 Jahren auf pilzwiderstandsfähige Rebsorten gesetzt, sogenannte Piwi-Sorten, und gemerkt: Das alleine reicht nicht. So renaturierte Lenz seine Flächen nach und nach, rodete Reben, setzte auf Biodiversitet und merkte: «Die Insekten kamen zurück.» Heute seien seine Mitarbeiter kaum je krank, er habe mehr Ertrag aus weniger Rebstöcken und der Geschmack sei besser. Es gibt aber auch krasse Schattenseiten: Mit der grösseren Aufmerksamkeit kamen auch schwerwiegende Anfeindungen. «Wir haben aus Angst sogar Videokameras installiert.» Wie sehr das seine Familie belastete, er damit umging und welche Konsequenzen das hatte, erzählt Roland Lenz in dieser Folge. Ein spannendes Gespräch über die Schönheit und den Umgang mit der Natur und den Egoismus des Menschen.
