Once again, as this podcast predicates on, the inspiration came from the guest, in this case Peter Mader. I met Peter after I moved to Innsbruck engaging with some of the local skate community. If you meet Peter right now you will meet a kind, well mannered, smart, sick skater and filmmaker making a name of himself documenting skateboarding all over Europe and tipping his toes in U.S.A too. Three years ago this wasn't the case, with almost 30 years old Peter was working as a mechanical engineer for almost a decade before he made the bold decision to quit a job that could have continued for another 20 years and dived into his passion since he was a kid, skateboarding and filmmaking. EV53 - Martin “Hasi” Haslwanter, stay as you are.
<p>From stuffing boots to becoming an integral part of the history of snowboarding, Martin “Hasi” Haslwanter has been Burton Europe Team Manager for almost 30 years and within this time he opened the door and nurtured some of the most epic careers in snowboarding, signing riders like Gigi Ruf, Nicolas Muller, Fredi Kalbermatten and the list goes on. </p> <p>Catching him right before his 50th birthday this chat had a different feeling. Some reminiscence, some laughs, lots of snowboard talk but above all a chat that opens the door into the intricacies and insights that come from a life on the road, form mountain to mountain and contest to contest. </p> <p>Now Hasi has a new role at Burton, which comes with some new challenges as-well that we will probably talk about in the future, but this time we talked about keeping the balance between a professional relationship and friendships, the actual job of being a Team Manager and how this role has changed, or not, during the years.</p> <p>Also…Hey Hasi, how can I get my kid sponsored?
