We are all active participants in the preaching and teaching of God's Word. We aspire to be; "a safe place for everyone to explore faith in Jesus, encounter His love and look more and more like Him each day".
Here we bring you weekly content from the Sunday Services of Evangel Church located in beautiful Powell River, BC, CANADA.
After years of faithfully preaching at Evangel Church, Pastor Lucas delivers his final sermon as lead pastor, drawing on 2 Timothy 2:14–26.
In this powerful farewell message, Pastor Lucas challenges the church to reject empty arguments, hold firmly to the truth of Christ, and carry that truth with gentleness, holiness, and love.
This sermon explores:
Why Christians must unite around Christ, not quarrel over opinions
The danger of empty and irrelevant teaching
Holding tightly to truth while holding gently to people
What it means to become a useful vessel in God’s house

The Secret to Enduring Faith (It’s Not What You Think)
What does it take to live out your faith with endurance?
In this message from 2 Timothy 2, we explore three foundational truths for every believer:
Grace is our source.
Multiplication is our mission.
Discipline is our method.
Using powerful imagery of a soldier, athlete, and farmer, the Apostle Paul challenges us to live with focus, integrity, and patience.
Just like in sports, the real work happens in the discipline before the game. The same is true in our spiritual lives.
🔹 Feeling overwhelmed in your faith?
🔹 Wondering if you have what it takes?
🔹 Struggling to stay consistent?
This message will remind you:
You don’t do this in your own strength; you rely on the grace of Christ.

Don’t Be Ashamed of the Gospel | Courage & Truth
Why are you here?
What brings a group of people together to believe in a God we can’t see, trust in a Savior we’ve never physically met, and build our lives on it?
The Apostle Paul doesn’t avoid that tension; he leans into it.
In this message from 2 Timothy 1, we confront a real temptation every believer faces: the temptation to be ashamed of the gospel.
Paul, writing from prison near the end of his life, calls Timothy and us to something deeper:
Faithfulness requires courage and a firm grip on truth.
In this sermon, we explore:
Why the message of the cross seems foolish to the world
The real pressure and cost of following Jesus publicly
How to stand firm without compromising truth
What it means to “hold fast” to sound teaching
Why we must not reshape the gospel to fit culture
The power of personal testimony and lived experience
This is a call to bold, grounded, unashamed faith—rooted not just in ideas, but in a real encounter with Jesus.
