The sermon centers on the sobering reality of death and the eternal consequences of unrepentant sin, drawing from Ecclesiastes 12 to illustrate the inevitability of physical death and the soul's return to God. Through a powerful personal narrative from a young preacher's ministry in a corrupt oil town, the message confronts the audience with the daily presence of death, the fear of judgment, and the urgent need for repentance while there is still time. The preacher emphasizes that while physical death is certain, the second death—the eternal separation from God in the lake of fire—is the true horror, described as eternal punishment, banishment, and unending suffering. He warns that no amount of wealth, influence, or last-minute remorse can save one who dies without faith in Christ, and calls listeners to immediate surrender to Jesus before it is too late, urging them to respond while they still have breath, conscience, and opportunity.

Gift Of Eternal Life - Evangelist Rolfe Barnard
Eternal life is not merely endless existence but a present, transformative relationship with the living God and Jesus Christ, imparted as a sovereign, unearned gift by grace through faith. Rooted in Scripture, particularly John 17, it is defined as knowing the only true God and His Son, a knowledge that is experiential, personal, and life-giving, beginning at the moment of salvation. This divine life is not the result of human effort but the work of the Holy Spirit, who breathes God's own eternal life into spiritually dead sinners, making God Himself the very essence of eternal life. It is a life already possessed in the present, sustained by God's power, and destined for full realization in the future when believers will be conformed to Christ's image in glory. Ultimately, eternal life is the indwelling presence of the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—ensuring that all who are given to Christ by the Father will never perish, for this life, rooted in the eternal nature of God, is forever secure and unending. json
