Podcast Overview

Everyday Church Podcast is about sharing stories of the often untold, simple and extraordinary work Churches across Australian communities are doing and why they do it! This podcast is one way to show the true breadth and beauty of the local church. I am the Community Engagement Leader for Australian Christian Churches Movement in NSW/ACT. I am the team chaplain for the professional basketball team the Illawarra Hawks. I am one of the Co-Senior Pastors at Lighthouse Church. I do all these things because I love making faith as as accessible as possible to culture that often thinks it is not.

Ok this episode is with a very special guest! He is a mentor to me over many years, a long time boss, pastor and good friend Paul Bartlett.

Paul is a 'global' expert on community engagement and he embodies the everyday church and what it takes to lead one. Paul and I have worked together for a long time and love a laugh – sometimes it is hard to know when we are actually being serious.

Paul is the founder of Mobilise mobilise.au and he is using everything he has got and learnt to coach and train church leaders to make a difference in the community like never before. We also chat secret fishing spots, preaching props, aswell as the one thing Pastors need to stop doing right away.

To connect with Paul further, jump onto mobilise.au

or on instagram @_paulebartlett

To find out more about the Everyday Church Podcast you can connect with me over Instagram by DMing @josh_hammann

Season 2 Episode 1 with Matt Tanttari

Several years ago Matt asked his Dad (pastor Kari) could he have a fulltime job at the church his Dad was pastoring. His Dad said no and it became the making of Matt as an entrepreneur, innovator and a great connector in community. Those great learnings are the very thing he now brings to being the senior pastor of that same church on the north coast in NSW.

This episode if full of fun & thoughts from Matt on how he approaches the Church in an everyday context. If you know the North Coast, you know that it is a community that is happy to run in its own lane! However, as you will find in this chat, God is amazingly at work in unique ways through this community as he always is. Enjoy this is refreshing and a light hearted conversation with my guest who takes his faith seriously but himself not so much. For some reason we also delve into saunas and embarrassing sermon analogies (apologies in advance).

To connect with Matt further

 https://limitless.church/ or on instagram @matthewtanttari

To find out more about the Everyday Church Podcast you can connect with me over Instagram by DMing @josh_hammann

Season 1 Epiosde 5 with Sharna Lovell

This episode is all about fashion week, pageants and prayers! It’s amazing that the Church is uniquely positioned in spaces where we would not naturally think it is.

My guest on the episode is Sharna Lovell who is a chaplain to the Arts. This role sees Sharna specifically involved in Australian Fashion Week and the Miss Universe contest.

Sharna offers valuable behind the scenes insights on these spheres of life and how people are encouraged and supported by the simple work of the everyday church.

Sharna was also formerly one of the chaplains to the Sydney Kings, where she was a critical piece to many wives and girlfriends of professional sportsmen. You will find out in this episode why she loves an extra hot soy latte, her obvious passion for people in the fashion industry and some weird and wonderful things she has seen on the runway. Enjoy my chat with Sharna, with my special guest host in this episode Elyse Flaherty.
