Ep. 29 Where Should I Go?

In this episode, I share some exciting news about upcoming events where you can catch me live. I’m thrilled to announce the February edition of No Requests, a special event called “Dill La Soul,” co-hosted by myself and DJ Ambush. This event is a heartfelt tribute to two hip-hop legends: the iconic producer J Dilla and the late Dave “Trugoy” Jolicoeur of De La Soul. Event Details: • Date: Sunday, February 23, 2025 • Time: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM • Location: McMenamins White Eagle Saloon, 836 N Russell St, Portland, OR 97227 • Admission: Free (21 and over) Join us for an evening filled with timeless beats, deep grooves, and classic vibes as we celebrate the music and legacy of these two pioneers who have profoundly influenced the sound of hip-hop. With two DJs on four decks, we’ll take you on a journey through the Golden Era of Hip-Hop, curating a head-nodding experience you won’t want to miss. Remember, it’s not a party; it’s a vibe. Early arrival is strongly recommended, as seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Expect standing room. Let’s come together to honor the culture and keep the spirit of true hip-hop alive. For more information, visit McMenamins White Eagle Saloon (https://www.mcmenamins.com/venueevent.aspx?id=262105&venueid=55) or XRAY.fm (https://xray.fm/events/2778). Additionally, I’m considering making original and past episodes of the Welcome to the Neighborhood radio show available exclusively through my Patreon. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this—would you be interested in accessing these episodes that aren’t available anywhere else? In this episode, I also reflect on the dangers of setting unrealistic expectations and how they can hold us back. Plus, I discuss the importance of being in community, supporting one another, and my ongoing plea for all of us to just be good people. Tap in!
