Further Reading
In the Acts of the Apostles, chapter 26, Paul is on trial for his life. When he explains how Jesus met him personally, and how it became clear that the Jewish Scriptures had always been pointing to Jesus, the Roman governor Festus accuses him of insanity. Paul replies,
“I’m not insane. What I am saying is true and reasonable.”
This book has tried to get at the truth of the person and message of Jesus. But my case for this truth has been built on a foundation of reason.
If you want to explore that reason further, here are some incredible books on the subject:
The Case for Christ – Lee Strobel - A journalist investigates the historical and evidential claims about Jesus. Reads like a detective story; excellent for seekers.
Mere Christianity – C.S. Lewis - A classic that explores the rational basis for Christian belief, written in a conversational style by a former atheist. Great for skeptics and believers alike.
The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism – Tim Keller - Addresses common objections to Christianity with grace and intellectual depth. Ideal for thoughtful skeptics and urban audiences.

Chapter 24 – Two Millenia Down
www.EverythingYouKnowAboutJesusIsWrong.com
Two Millennia Down — The Afterglow of Jesus
What if the greatest humanitarian movement in history grew from a crucified carpenter?
What if the most powerful evidence for Christianity is what love has built?
What if Jesus is still calling misfits out of the dark?
Two thousand years after Jesus, his influence can be seen wherever people serve the sick, educate the forgotten, confront slavery, welcome the marginalized, and enter suffering instead of fleeing it. Christianity has never produced a spotless record because Christians are not spotless people. But at its best, it keeps returning to the person of Jesus and the radical love that changes hearts, communities, and history.
In This Chapter You’ll Discover
• How early Christian compassion helped the movement grow
• Why Christian faith has fueled humanitarian action across cultures
• How the message of Jesus challenged slavery, caste, and exclusion
• Why Christianity’s failures do not erase the standard set by Christ
• What a rescued wet kitten taught me about grace and resistance
Big Questions to Consider
• Where do you see the afterglow of Jesus in the world?
• Are you judging Christ by his followers or his followers by Christ?
• Will you keep hissing at the one reaching into the darkness to rescue you?

Chapter 23 – Worth Dying For
www.EverythingYouKnowAboutJesusIsWrong.com
Worth Dying For — A Mission Bigger Than Safety
What if Jesus’ final command was an invitation into a hero’s journey?
What if the good news is worth both living and dying for?
What if ordinary people can still carry a message to the ends of the earth?
Jesus’ final words sent ordinary followers into an extraordinary mission: go and proclaim the good news. They had no political power, army, wealth, or institutional protection. Many paid with their lives. Their sacrifice did not extinguish the movement. It made the world wonder whether a faith worth dying for might also be worth living for.
In This Chapter You’ll Discover
• What Jesus meant by the good news
• Why the Great Commission was a sacrifice mission
• How the hero’s journey appears throughout Scripture
• What tradition says happened to the apostles
• Why courage, sacrifice, and love spread the movement farther than power could
Big Questions to Consider
• What mission is bigger than your comfort?
• Are you living as a spectator or answering the call?
• What would make your life worth giving away?
