What the heck is happening to my body?? How stress manifests in the body
<p>This week I share about my medical history with stress and how it has manifested in my body over the years. From getting tummy aches when I was in elementary because of bad notes home to almost dying from a brain hemorrhage in 2011 to a frozen shoulder due to unbearable stress- I share my story to be a mirror for you. Maybe my story sounds familiar to you and you have been experiencing something similar. Maybe it's not just a tummy ache or a acne breakout...look at what is stressing you in your life that maybe showing up in your body. This is your reminder to pay attention to the alarms your body is giving you and to not ignore them because it can be fatal. Culturally, whether Latino or Asian, we have normalized constant stress and keep on trucking. Culturally we normalized not going to the doctor and waiting till its unmanageable. It's stories like mine that opens up the conversations to take better care of ourselves. </p> <p><br></p>

**MAJOR CORRECTION** In the beginning of the episode I mention I started therapy in December 2022 🤦🏻♀️ BRAIN FART! I actually started at the end of December 2020. Alright, you may proceed. As a Mexican Filipino American, I come from two cultures that are similar in which therapy and mental health are very taboo subjects amongst our elders.
