S2E4: Baba Yaga is Exactly Like Other Girls
Wicked witch? Precarious trickster? Embodiment of the wild feminine spirit? This week Jess surprises Rachel with the story of Slavic feminist icon, Baba Yaga. Listen in as they explore folklore and how even Baba Yaga couldn't escape the unfair expectations placed on women.
Two corrections:
1. Lindy Ryan is incorrectly referenced as the author of Into the Forest: Tales of the Baba Yaga. She is the editor, and Catherine Henry is credited as the author of the book's introduction. The quote attributed to Lindy is, however, correct.
2. Kris Spisak's book is titled Becoming Baba Yaga: Trickster, Feminist, and Wicked Witch of the Wood. Her quoted article is called "Who is Baba Yaga?"
