Forbidden Fruit.
Today I pulled out a mixtape I made about 15 years ago. Still one of my absolute favourites. A tape made for cold autumn days — tender, warm, a bit melancholic, but in that way that feels like a soft Horse-blanket around the soul. What I love most is the way it flows. Those little cuts and transitions… like a Kubrick or Truffaut Movie… It’s storytelling through sound — a very intimate tape. It’s full of warm-hearted tracks from artists like Gravenhurst, Romy Schneider, Astor Piazzolla, Turner, Whitest Boy Alive, CocoRosie, Sebastien Tellier, The Cure, Manfred Krug… PS: The artwork isn’t mine. I found it somewhere back then and used it purely for personal, non-commercial purposes. If the original artist ever stumbles across this — please know: no harm intended, only appreciation. Hallo. Expand Your Mind-FM 50 – GLOW A new mixtape is in town. After Number 49 CIAO — which told the story of slowly saying goodbye to a Love (still available on Soundcloud and Mixcloud) — comes something very special for me: It’s the 50th mixtape I’ve made. (Not even counting the personalized ones I’ve created for someone special along the way!) Ok ok, It took me nearly ten years to shape the last ten tapes — but hey, I still believe a passionated Hobby doesn’t need a deadline. GLOW is Part One of a trilogy called The Evolution of a Night Out. This first chapter tells the story of friends meeting, getting ready, and glowing up for a night of dance. Two hours filled with classic House, Disco, and a little too much Italo Disco — just the way I like it. And what did I learn while creating this one? That we all should go out more often.
