Expediting Change” Highlights Entrepreneurial Journey of Quentin Smith
The Visionary Journey of Quinton Smith Sr.: From Banker to Community-Driven Mogul Buffalo, New York, is home to many entrepreneurial minds, but few embody the spirit of community advancement and fearless innovation quite like Quinton Smith Sr. From his beginnings as a sociology graduate at Buffalo State College to becoming a trailblazing executive and real estate investor, Smith’s journey is one of purpose, perseverance, and people-centered progress. In 2005, Smith made history as the youngest—and only African-American—Vice President and Branch Manager at HSBC Bank. Yet, even at the height of corporate success, his vision extended far beyond the walls of banking. Inspired by a greater mission, he boldly left his position in 2008 to fully pursue entrepreneurship. What followed was the launch of a multi-dimensional business empire grounded in real estate, childcare, hospitality, and social impact. Smith co-founded The Premier Group, a debt and acquisitions firm that laid the foundation for his future ventures. He and his fiancée also opened It Takes a Village Childcare, establishing a commitment to family-first values. By 2011, he launched Canaan Real Estate, and in 2017, TVR LLC, an acquisition and real estate development firm that also educates others through its “WHY Real Estate” Masterclass webinars. In 2023, TVR LLC expanded into affordable housing and earned a $75,000 grant from Erie County—a testament to Smith’s continued impact. But his work doesn’t stop at business. As a founding member of Upstate Collective Inc., Smith has pioneered youth literacy programs and holiday drives that have supported over 1,000 children and families. He also co-owns DECO Lounge, a stylish cocktail bar in downtown Buffalo that has become a hub for local influencers and professionals. His efforts have not gone unnoticed—earning him the Trail Blazers Award from Utopia Experiences. Today, Quinton Smith Sr. lives by the mantra: “Expansion Always in ALL WAYS.” It’s a philosophy that reflects his commitment to growth—not just in wealth, but in wisdom, family, and community. Through his evolving legacy, Smith continues to inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs to lead with both vision and heart. https://www.instagram.com/why_realestate20/# https://www.linkedin.com/in/quinton-smith-721397256
