By living our lives, we inevitably experience things. Feelings, emotions, nature, catastrophes, shit, wonders. Being human myself, I am part of the experiencing community on earth. At times, I am astonished at how much I experience and think. To think that there are at least a gazillion more thoughts and experiences than my own makes my brain want to explode. But it also excites me to talk about and philosophise about EVERYTHING. Ok, I just enjoy talking but I think (or I wish) it might also inspire others because what inspires me most are others’ opinions. My goal is to inspire one person❤️

Social Media, I guess
Helloooo, long time no hear!! Well, you probably couldn’t care less but I’m glad you’re reading this and listening to my brain dump 🫶🏼 why was social media ever invented? I think escapism is the answer. Everything that is entertainment is escapism of some form, right? Books, movies, music,… I LOVE ESCAPISM. It makes life so fun. And yet, it it bad sometimes. Especially with social media. I get too obsessed and I think many people have that problem. Because it’s different to novels. We think the people online are real. But in the end, they are all just characters based on real people, right? Yeah, I think that might be a helpful thought. Anyway, let me know your thoughts on social media (on social media 😛). Byeeeee 🫶🏼

WELTSCHMERZ
WELTSCHMERZ "The modern meaning of Weltschmerz in the German language is the psychological pain caused by sadness that can occur when realizing that someone's own weaknesses are caused by the inappropriateness and cruelty of the world" You can feel it when the world does not fit your (ideal) ideas of it. And when you realise that you are somehow powerless in this whole mess. The constant availability access to every kind of news reinforces that feeling. Our field of action doesn't correspond to our field of knowledge. Personally, I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the fact that I cannot do much about that. What happens then is that I pity myself, and ultimately I do nothing. What helps is setting boundaries. It's not ignorant. We are aware that bad things are happening. But staying within our field of action allows us to actually act on the small scale. And everything you do puts something in motion. We cannot stop bad things from happening but we can accept that this is reality and do our best to help where we can. That can mean just helping in your closest environment. The most important thing is not to dwell on that feeling of powerlessness because it will put you (and me) in the position of the victim which we are not! Let me know how you deal with this ironically romantic feeling of Weltschmerz. World-pain. See you next time 🫶🏼

(Self-) comparison - why it should be cancelled
Comparison… when I think of that word, it only carries bad connotations. Comparison (especially self-comparison) usually means that I am somehow worse than the person or thing that I compare myself to. Why though? Why do so many people feel the need to put themselves down? The need to have affirmation of being “wrong” or bad. Let me tell you, I don’t know why we do that. As every negative emotion, an upward comparison also serves for us to know where we are in life, to not make mistakes and to not fall behind. And, as always, there is a very thin line between just the right amount and too much. In this episode, I am trying to tell you how I think comparison (or negative self-comparison) can be handled and I am trying to encourage you not to pity yourself too much 🫶🏼 I hope you enjoy! And please let me know how you handle comparison, because as you might hear, I am a little bit lost.
