Hey everyone! We’re back with an exciting new episode of “Ey Up Ellis!” and this one is all about one of our favourite bands Hope and Social! I caught up with the band at their Domino Rally all day festival to find out more about what makes them so unique.

My mum and dad talk about them all the time and I love their music but I've not had a chance to see them play live before. If you caught our last episode you'll have heard me and dad discussing our dream music festival lineups and my dad picked Hope and Social for his stage so I was really excited to find out what all the fuss was about!

Who are Hope and Social?

Hope and Social are a wonderful band who are well-known for putting on incredible live shows and events, heavily involving people in their music and generally having a brilliant time.

They've always approached things a little differently. In their previous incarnation as Four Day Hombre, they created the first ever fan funded, fan owned record label - Alamo Music, and they let people pay what they want for their music.

Since evolving into Hope and Social, the band have become known for putting their fans at the center of everything they do - whether that be turning their studio into a French Bistro, recording a live track using 70 tuned wine bottles or putting on a funbus to the seaside, the band have always strived to make sure everyone has a great time.

Oh and they all wear blue jackets! Why?… listen to the episode to find out!

What's the Domino Rally?

13 years after putting on the Sleep Sound Garden Party, Hope and Social's Domino Rally was a summertime extravaganza of music, making, food, art, drink and fun at the wonderful Old Woollen at Sunnybank Mills in Leeds. Oh and dominoes. Lots and LOTS of dominoes! (Including human ones!)

I had an amazing time and loved seeing the band play their headline set at the end. Listen to the episode to hear more about all the fun things we got up to and hear my interview with the band. You can even find out why Rich was soaking wet!

Hope you like it!
