This sermon addresses the biblical command for wives to submit to their husbands, grounding the instruction in the authority of Christ and the analogy of the church as His body. The message clarifies that submission is a voluntary act of obedience to God rather than a forced dynamic, emphasizing that it is the wife's responsibility to enact this posture for conscience' sake. While acknowledging the cultural discomfort surrounding these terms, the speaker outlines the outer limits of a husband's authority, specifically regarding matters that contradict Scripture, and encourages wives to offer respectful counsel rather than undermining leadership. The central exhortation challenges women to examine their responses to their husbands' initiatives, urging them to be encouragers and counselors who support their spouse's role as head, thereby fostering a marriage that reflects the unity and order established by God.

Judges Ep. 4. The Lord Goes Before | Verse by Verse Bible Study
Judges chapters 4–5 recount Israel's deliverance from twenty years of oppression under Jabin, king of Canaan, and his powerful army. As Deborah and Barak lead Israel into battle, the Lord makes clear that the victory belongs to Him: He draws the enemy into the place of battle, goes before His people, and delivers them from an army of 900 iron chariots. In this verse-by-verse study, we follow the events of the battle and the victory song of Deborah and Barak, considering both the willingness of some in Israel to hazard their lives and the unwillingness of others to come to their aid. Above all, these chapters point us to the Lord as the One who fights for His people and gives them deliverance.

Husbands: A Call to Teach
What does it mean for a husband to lead his home spiritually? In this message, Elder Jonathan Moseley considers the biblical call for husbands to know, live, teach, and reinforce the Word of God within their families. Drawing from passages including 1 Peter 3 and Ephesians 5, he looks at practical ways a husband can lead—not simply by telling his family what to do, but by growing in Scripture himself, living out what he teaches, and patiently helping those closest to him grow in their walk with the Lord. This message is part of our ongoing series, The Christian Home, where we are considering the biblical principles that shape marriage, family life, and the responsibilities of husbands and wives.
