Der Immobiliensektor hat einen maßgeblichen Anteil am CO2-Ausstoß in Deutschland. Rund ein Drittel – sagen Experten. Entsprechend muss der Wohnungsbestand energetisch saniert werden, doch viele Mieter sind nicht bereit, höhere Mieten dafür zu akzeptieren. Weiteren Zündstoff bringt der Mietendeckel in die Debatte. Viele befürchten, dass er sich investitionshemmend auswirken wird. Wer also soll den Klimaschutz bezahlen? Darüber diskutieren Danny Freymark, Mitglied des Berliner Abgeordnetenhauses und umweltpolitischer Sprecher der CDU-Fraktion, sowie Dirk Steinbach, Director Leiter Portfoliosteuerung der Deutsche Wohnen.

Über diese Frage diskutieren der Rechtswissenschaftler Professor Markus Artz von der Uni Bielefeld und Dr. Kathrin Wolff, Geschäftsführerin der Deutsche Wohnen Management GmbH. Professor Artz hatte der Berliner SPD-Fraktion im März 2019 in einem Gutachten bestätigt, dass Berlin die Mieten deckeln darf. Wie steht er zum aktuellen Entwurf? Was für Auswirkungen würde der Mietendeckel in dieser Form haben? Zwei spannende Expertenmeinungen treffen aufeinander.

Ist der Mietendeckel ein geeignetes Mittel zur Schaffung bezahlbaren Wohnraums? Welche anderen Instrumente könnten helfen? Darüber diskutieren Carolin Wandzik, Geschäftsführerin des GEWOS Instituts für Stadt-, Regional- und Wohnforschung, sowie Lars Urbansky, Vorstandsmitglied der Deutsche Wohnen.
