Hawkeye & Jonathan
Hawkeye is known for his bow, precision, courage, and fierce loyalty to his friends. But thousands of years before Hawkeye ever picked up a bow, Scripture introduced us to another archer with some remarkably similar qualities: Jonathan.
Jonathan was the son of King Saul and one of David’s closest friends. When David’s life was threatened, Jonathan devised a secret warning using his bow and arrows. With David hidden nearby, an arrow became a coded message telling his friend that danger was coming and he needed to flee.
In this episode of Faith and Freedom with Matt DiConti, we look beyond Jonathan’s skill with a bow and discover something even greater: his loyalty, courage, sacrifice, and willingness to protect his friend—even when David’s future could cost Jonathan the throne himself.
Jonathan didn’t just use an arrow as a weapon. He used an arrow to save his friend’s life.

Black Widow & Rahab
Black Widow & Rahab
What could Black Widow possibly have in common with a woman living inside the walls of ancient Jericho?
Rahab’s story has all the elements of an espionage thriller: two spies behind enemy lines, authorities searching for them, a secret hiding place, misdirection, an escape through a window, and a scarlet cord marking the home that would ultimately be saved.
But Rahab’s greatest story isn’t about espionage. It’s about redemption.
In this episode of Faith and Freedom with Matt DiConti, we explore how one courageous decision made in faith changed Rahab’s future. The woman who once seemed like one of the least likely people to become part of God’s story ultimately appears in the family line leading to Jesus Christ.
Your past may be part of your story—but God doesn’t have to let it determine your ending.

Rahab’s legacy: Matthew 1:5; Hebrews 11:31; James 2:25

The Hulk & Samson
Hulk & Samson
What does the Incredible Hulk have in common with Samson? More than you might think.
Both possessed extraordinary strength and could overwhelm almost anyone who stood against them. Yet some of their greatest battles weren’t against the enemies in front of them—they were the battles happening within.
In this episode of Faith and Freedom with Matt DiConti, we explore Samson’s incredible feats, from tearing apart a lion with his bare hands to defeating 1,000 Philistines with the jawbone of a donkey. But despite his tremendous strength, Samson’s desires, choices, and lack of self-control eventually contributed to his downfall.
Hulk and Samson remind us of an important truth: being strong enough to defeat everyone around you doesn’t necessarily mean you’re strong enough to defeat what’s within you.
