What If Birth Isn't the Curse?

Was childbirth really cursed... or have we simply assumed that it was? For many Christians, the idea that painful childbirth is Eve's curse has been repeated for so long that we've rarely stopped to ask a simple question: Does Genesis actually say that? In this episode of the Faith-Based Birthing Podcast, we're continuing our journey of restoring birth back to God's original design by taking a fresh look at one of the most commonly accepted beliefs about childbirth. Rather than beginning with tradition or popular teaching, we're going back to the biblical text itself and asking what Scripture actually says. This isn't an episode about controversy. It's an invitation to become curious. It's an invitation to open your Bible, ask thoughtful questions, and discover the beauty of studying God's Word for yourself. In this episode, we'll explore: • Why some of the most widely accepted beliefs deserve a closer look. • The difference between what the biblical text says and what we sometimes assume it says. • Why understanding God's design in creation changes the way we think about pregnancy and birth. • How asking better questions can lead to deeper confidence, stronger faith, and a greater appreciation for God's wisdom. Whether you're expecting your first baby, preparing for another birth, supporting women as a birth worker, or simply love studying Scripture, this conversation will encourage you to slow down, investigate, and let God's Word speak for itself. If you'd like to dive deeper into the biblical and physiological foundations of birth, visit FaithBasedBirthing.com. You'll find the Restoring Birth book, companion workbooks and journals, our faith-centered, evidence-based course library, birth planning resources, and membership designed to equip you for pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and motherhood. If this episode encouraged you, be sure to subscribe, leave a review, and share it with another mom or friend who loves digging deeper into Scripture. Next Episode: What did I discover when I went back to Genesis and studied the original Hebrew? We'll begin unpacking one of the most eye-opening studies in Restoring Birth, and it may challenge what you've believed about childbirth for years.

The Most Dangerous Thing You Can Bring Into Labor Isn't Fear... It's Assumptions

What if one of the biggest things standing between you and a confident birth isn't fear... but the assumptions you've never stopped to question? In this episode of the Faith-Based Birthing Podcast, we're continuing our journey of restoring birth back to God's original design by looking at something most of us never think about: the assumptions we've accepted as truth. From the moment we become pregnant, we're surrounded by opinions, traditions, medical routines, family stories, and cultural beliefs about birth. Many of them are helpful. Some of them aren't. The problem is that we rarely stop to ask where those ideas came from or whether they actually align with Scripture, physiology, and the evidence. In this conversation, we'll talk about why assumptions matter, how they shape the decisions we make during pregnancy and labor, and why understanding God's design changes the way we approach birth altogether. This episode isn't about rejecting modern medicine or dismissing medical interventions. It's about learning to ask better questions, understanding normal physiology first, and building your birth decisions on truth rather than fear. We'll also begin introducing one of the biggest misconceptions in childbirth education today, setting the stage for our next episode where we'll take a deep dive into what contractions are actually doing inside your body and why understanding them can completely transform the way you experience labor. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by conflicting advice, uncertain about what to believe, or simply wanted someone to explain why your body works the way it does, this episode is for you. If you'd like to go even deeper, be sure to visit FaithBasedBirthing.com, where you'll find the Restoring Birth book, companion workbooks and journals, our evidence-based, faith-centered course library, birth planning resources, and membership designed to walk with you from pregnancy through birth and into those first precious weeks of motherhood. If this episode encouraged you, would you take a moment to subscribe, leave a review, and share it with another mom? Every share helps us encourage more women to replace fear with confidence by understanding God's incredible design for birth.

What If Everything You've Been Told About Birth Started with the Wrong Story?

What if the biggest thing standing between you and the birth God designed isn't your body...but the story you've been told? In this episode of the Faith-Based Birthing Podcast, we're kicking off a brand-new season by asking one simple but powerful question: What if everything you've been told about birth started with the wrong foundation? For generations, women have been taught to fear birth. We've been told our bodies are unreliable, that labor is something to survive, and that birth is primarily a medical event. But what if God designed something far more incredible than we've imagined? In this episode, we'll begin exploring what Scripture, physiology, and evidence-based birth education reveal about God's intentional design for pregnancy and birth. This isn't about rejecting modern medicine or promoting one specific birth setting. It's about understanding how your body was created to work so you can make informed, confident decisions for yourself and your baby. Whether you're expecting your first baby, preparing for another birth, supporting women as a birth worker, or simply passionate about understanding God's design, this episode will challenge you to look at birth through an entirely new lens. In this episode, we'll discuss: • Why so many women approach birth with fear instead of confidence. • How assumptions shape the way we think about labor. • Why understanding normal physiology changes everything. • How Scripture and science beautifully complement one another. • What you can expect throughout this new season of the Faith-Based Birthing Podcast. If this episode encourages you, be sure to subscribe so you don't miss the conversations ahead.
