running & life lessons from a former olympic-trained athlete

This episode is a little different from the usual as I share a side of my story that not many people know — I was once an Olympic-trained track athlete.

In this episode, I talk about my background in sprinting, training with Olympic athletes, and what eventually shifted me away from the sport. I also share what it was like years later transitioning from sprinting into long-distance running and the major differences between the two when it comes to training, discipline, mindset, breath, and endurance.

I also reflect on a recent 5K run I did after a long break from running. No music, no phone, no distractions — just me, thoughts (that I share), and the mental challenge of pushing through.

Whether you’re a runner or not, I hope this episode encourages you to revisit something you once loved, challenge yourself in a new way, and remember that life is much more like a long-distance run than a sprint.

unscripted: a road trip, healing & things we needed to hear

This week's episode was unplanned and unexpected. It was just me and my friend Kat in the car having a real conversation and at some point we decided to hit record.

It started with a book the Holy Spirit prompted me to pull off my shelf during prayer — Well Done! Good and Faithful Servant — and turned into a conversation that kept going. Here's what we got into:

Spiritually unemployed. What it actually means to be active in your faith — not just attending, but showing up and doing the work.

Serving with the wrong heart. The difference between planting seeds and needing to see the harvest and what it reveals about your motives.

The patterns we carry. Generational cycles, survival mode, and the stuff that only surfaces when something shakes you — like a relationship.

Letting God do the deep work. Why deliverance matters and what it actually costs to let God in to do 'surgery'.

And somewhere between the miles and the honesty, we landed on this: healing often requires hurting first. Nobody wants to hear that. But here we are.

Resources & Links:

Book: Well Done Good and Faithful Servant

The Great Commission - Matthew 28:19-20
