Faithfully Reformed features biblical teaching from Rev. Bernard Harper, grounded in Scripture alone, shaped by historic Reformed theology, and focused on the glory of God in Christ. Each episode aims to equip believers with sound doctrine for faithful living.
In this episode of Faithfully Reformed, we explore Luke 6:1–11, where Jesus Christ confronts the rigid legalism of the Pharisees and reveals the true purpose of the Sabbath.
As the disciples pick grain on the Sabbath and Jesus heals a man with a withered hand, religious leaders accuse Him of breaking the law. But Jesus points them back to the heart of God’s design for the Sabbath—mercy, restoration, and life. By declaring Himself Lord of the Sabbath, Jesus demonstrates His authority over the law and exposes how man-made traditions had distorted God’s intention.
This passage reminds us that the Sabbath was never meant to be a burden but a gift pointing ultimately to the rest found in Christ. Through this sermon, we consider how legalism blinds the heart, how Jesus fulfills the purpose of the law, and how true obedience flows from understanding the grace and authority of Christ.
Join us as we examine this powerful moment in the ministry of Jesus and what it means to follow the One who is Lord of the Sabbath.

The Glory of The Resurrection
In this episode of Faithfully Reformed, we listen to a sermon from Romans 6:4–11, where the Apostle Paul the Apostleexplains the believer’s union with Jesus Christ in His death and resurrection.
Through the waters of baptism, Paul reminds us that Christians have been buried with Christ and raised to walk in newness of life. This passage powerfully declares that the old self has been crucified, the power of sin has been broken, and believers now live in the reality of Christ’s resurrection life. Because Christ died to sin once for all and now lives to God, those who belong to Him are called to consider themselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
This sermon explores the deep Reformed truth of union with Christ, the freedom believers have from the dominion of sin, and the new life that flows from the resurrection. Rather than living under the slavery of sin, Christians are now called to walk in the transforming power of the gospel.
Listen as we reflect on the finished work of Christ and what it means to live daily in the reality of being dead to sin and alive to God.

Alive in Christ: From Death to Grace
In this powerful passage, Pastor Bernard Harper walks through one of the clearest explanations of the gospel in all of Scripture. Paul the Apostle reminds us that apart from Christ we were spiritually dead in our sins, enslaved to the world, the flesh, and the devil. Yet the good news of the gospel breaks through with two life-changing words: “But God.”This sermon explores how God, rich in mercy and great in love, made us alive together with Christ, saving us completely by grace and not by our own works. Through Epistle to the Ephesians 2:1–10, Pastor Harper unpacks the transformation from death to life, the gift of salvation through faith, and the purpose for which believers are saved—to walk in the good works God prepared beforehand.Join us as we discover the depth of God’s grace, the power of Christ’s resurrection life, and the calling for every believer to live as a new creation in Him.
